Well I ordered a Dell Studio 15 yesterday without thinking about playing games on it because I have a home console but they said it can handle "mainstream games." So I was wondering if anyone can give me any ideas about what games I CAN play on my laptop, (shooters, stratigy, puzzles, action, ect...) But the more games you guys can list based on my laptops build listed below the better and I'll greatly appreciate your time and help. Thank you.

My laptop's build is as follows: Intel Pentium Duel Core T3200 (2.0GHz/667Mhz FSB/1MBcache). Memory: 3GB Shared Duel Channel DDR2 at 800MHz, Video Card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, with a hard drive of 320GB. ANY GAMES THAT CAN BE PLAYED ON THIS WILL HELP ME ALOT haha.

Pretty much anything from Valve, specially the Orange Box (5 great games for 30 euros).

Oblivion doesn't have much depth but it's a huge game (easily 100 hours long to get 100% on the Vanilla version) and has a great modding community so it's worth a try (GotY Edition under 40 euros).

Relic makes great RTS games like Dawn of War (10 euros) and Company of Heroes (10 euros).

There are more games but those alone should keep you busy for a long time, and I think you can maxed them.

Is that the specs of your new laptop in your signature? If so I am not sure how well you can actually play "mainstream games".

Check GOG.com (Good old games) im sure there are many games that you should like on that site, only 6-10 dollars too! Anyways enough of my Advertising, I would say anything From Valve, but because you Lappy is weak (intel GMA) you may have to run them on low, i don't really have experiences with the Intel GMA chips, so i really dont know how they preform in games, The 3 GB of ram may pull you through though but IDK. Play some of Blizzards older games, Anyone will do. Some of valves older games Again, anyone will do, I recommend Counterstrike if you like online gaming, but the learning curve is tough as hell, also Half life 1 is a great game, and get some older singleplayer games as well, Deus ex, As far as RTS's go, im sure you can find something on Steam that suits your liking, if you dont have steam, www.steampowered.com and download it.

Video memory is you graphics card memory, 256MB, 512MB, such and such. It says on Wikipedia its 512 MB, which is good, but the clock speeds are slow. If you want to know for yourself, go to wikipedia, and Type in "Intel GMA", then go down to the chart, and find Intel GMA 4500 series.

Core speed - 533 MHz

Shader speed - 533MHz

Video memory - 384mb

thats what i found for your graphics card, it won't play mainstream games maybe valve games will work on low.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Graphics-Media-Accelerator-4500MHD-GMA-X4500MHD.9883.0.html It sucks, especially since it can't even play Doom 3 or FEAR. You can always try StarCraft. Very nice RTS.

Okay cool, what is the latest year for game release dates that would work on this laptop? Up to the year 2000? Possibly 03? or 1999 and before?

I'll check out Sins of a Solar Empire, but I'm going to start a new and very simple thread with a subject called "What games can I play." Thanks for the help in this thread.

Try Sins of A Solar Empire.thusaha
id be afraid of how that game. Even after turning the graphics down to low you still get major lag from the large amount of ships and stuff floating around in the game. I'd try the can i run it site first.

There is the THQ Collector Pack from Steam that has Company of Heroes and Dawn of War + Expansions.

Edit: Sorry didn't look at your spec's. I don't know how well they will run on that. Maybe someone else could help out.

Don't worry if you can't play the newest games. There must be hundreds and hundreds of great PC games you've missed over the years.

Your video card will not work very well with modern games and it should be noted that your video card was not designed for any sort of gaming or heavy 3d work. You can still play older stuff, and I am sure you can play some games on low settings but to be honest, you are wasting your time except for maybe RTS's which dont need to look great to be fun.

You can definitly play games like WC3, Starcraft, & AOE. Sins of Solar will probably kill your video card. I think the guy was just kidding when he recommended it. Galactic Civ will probably work but that is turn based strategy and single player like Civilizations. You can definitly get stuff like Diablo 2, Sacred I, NWN I (RPG but can be diablo like online), and RPG classics like Baldurs Gate I & II, and KOTOR I & II.
