I think i got a popup in Chrome the other day and the popup also gave me a download with it >:( and 99% sure it was a download that had a virus in it
So right now I'm doing a full scan with MSE and the preliminary results say my system has a virus so whats a good anti spyware/anti malware that goes good with MSE? I want to ensure my PC is FULLY cleaned

Thanks is advance

firefox just sucks.. atm their having a huge fight with sun microsytems (they own flash player) and are having a falling out with java so i recommend going to a more flash friendly browser such as google chrome or safari or opera or w/e just not chrome.. i know chrome is really good normally but atm they have the support of IE and that means poor support.

second of all those two are spyware spacifically java based spyware.. remove them. give MSE a pat on the head

i encountered the same problem. few days back while i was browsing images in google images, i liked a wallpaper so i clicked for full sizre version of wallpaper. before i knew my a java apllication started to run and found that image i f=had opened was actually a link to a malware java application. but fortunately my a** was saved as kaspersky blocked all the pop-ups and didn't allow malware to run. later i ran full scan with kaspersky and found my pc wasn't affected at all and it hasn't slowed down a bit. i am currently using firefox 4 beta and i don't think i have problem with it till now, but if you feel like changing browser try opera.

as for good anti virus, if you don't mind spending few bucks i would recommend kaspersky. its really cheap and best out there and doesn't slow down your pc.

yes they work but they dont work anywhere near as well as they should it takes forever for video's to load in firefox on youtube for far too many people than a bug can be excused upon. and its been an ongoing problem.

yet ive stopped having this problem the second i went to chrome.

a huge chnk of websites these days have something flash or java oriented.

im not saying that it wont work im saying its working poorer than it shold or that others are observing who dont use firefox.

I've been using minefield for years now and I've never had problems like that (if theres a problem, it's serious, like the plugin crashing). Youtube videos load just fine.

my firefox also doesn't let popups automatically download things

take forever to get going and really make them drag on..1 pc your problem, 2 pc their problem, 29 pc's now its not just a problem anymore.

we can throw anecdotes at each other all day. that video loads instantly on every one of my computers (including ones without SSDs, and 5 year old seagate drives). computers at work load youtube videos in firefox as fast as they do in chrome.

a feature doesn't function correctly on your computer. it functions correctly for the majority of users. if it's not a top priority thing on bugzilla, it's a problem with your system

regretably i dont believe you and still wont im sorry when it stops happening ill happily let you know. firefox isnt welcome on my PC anymore. or any pc's that reside in the same house as me.

and its not a case of a software problem either.. nothing interferes with firefox and plugins havent failed. finally i am spyware/malware/rootkit/virus free and have no one stealing bandwidth. cookies are dumped and so is history regularly.

wow, you don't believe me? what do i have to gain lying about that? it seems like you have a super bias against firefox, you should have realised that anecdotal evidence means absolutely nothing and advised him to try out all the major browsers and settle on one he likes. I'm not a fool, I have to deal with the nuances of these browsers regularly (I'm a freelance web developer and I do R&D with web platf- oh wait, I guess you don't believe me right?). You want me to make a video or something showing that it loads just fine?

people these days

i would go with ie9.its been downloaded 2.35million times in its first 24 hours out.

its getting good reviews, beating firefox and crome (though by a narrow margin)in a 3 way comparrison.

it has good protection features now

jump lists and pin to taskbar/hardware acceleration are exelllent features

good intrgration with win 7/vista and mse
