I am getting shadow and texture flickering, not to mention performance slowdowns, on my Ati Radeon 5870 1gb gpu. I have the latest video drivers and the game is fully patched. Most other games work fine, but this one has been problematic in this sense. Changing video settings does nothing to solve these problems. Any solutions? It`s not the most major flickering, but it is quite obvious nonetheless. I have 8gb ddr3 ram and a 3.4ghz Phenom II x4 965 along with my gpu.

Mate, this is one of the worst ports ever! I mean if the original one was a disaster, lets say we call it "Katrina", then this one is just a slap in it's face, more like "hiroshima". Epic if I may.. Anyways even with all patches and stuff the game runs realy bad, so it's not your sys, just the bad game

Its not just your videocard that has this problem. I had the same annoying flickering shadows and had to disable sli on my nvidia gtx260's to solve it.

I used to get flickering, but that was with Crossfire. It's never occurred with a single GPU for me.

As for the slowdowns, it's prettywidely agreed that GTA IV is a poorly optimized mess (expansions included since they pretty much run on the same engine). I still get them from frequently.
