I intend to upgrade from an integrated graphics to 5670. I have Core 2 Duo E7400. I play games at 1440x900,am not a gamer with lots of time though, and i have a poor power supply.

Hence, should i buy a less expensive card?

for the non gaming kind i perscribe the hd 4550 or 5570 both would be much better suited to your use lifestyle. vadtly superior to onboard, good light gaming preformance, low power requirements.

is say those would be winners.

Why have none of you asked for his power supply wattage? For all we know he could have something like a 250W PSU, in that case, you won't be able to get any of those cards without upgrading PSU first.

4670s tend to be good and draw very little power.

And they are cheap too. I'd recommend a 5570, but they are a bit pricey at the moment, though it's a great card. My low profile 5570 is massively overclockable and handles it pretty well despite being in my low profile computer. I used to have a 4670 1 GB before I got my current 5850 in my main rig. Might just be my favorite video card ever. Great value (got it for $70 last July), great performance for most of my games, even at 1080p (BF2, 2142, Call of Duty 1-4, FEAR, Etc all played smooth at 1080p maxed out, 60 FPS). I miss it now that I've sold it

Well 5670 does not need an external connector and drwas very litttle power as does the 4670 The 5670 though is a bit pricey now and performs about 10-20% more compared to the older 4670. Now if an extra $30-40 worth the extra 10-20% performance increase i say go for it. Besides getting a 5670 will allow you to go more without need to upgrade
