So far the only games I know is nothing atm lol. I believe the majority of titles that had great scores included characters involving a weapon at some point in the game. If you guys are catching my drift please list a game that didnt involve a weapon. RTS dont count.

Edit: Dreamfall had no weapons and was pretty great with reviews.

Guitar Hero?

Or you mean as in not having to bother with gear? In which case City of Villains would be neat, but you do indeed have weapons and tons of violence.

Games that take place in a 3D space in you controlling the character. Super Mario 64 didnt had weapons either but Super Mario Sunshine had water holes which is a weapon :) I guess that's also why Sunshine didnt do so well as compare to the previous or SMG.

Do sport/racing/simulation/straight-puzzle games count? If not, hmm.. Broken Sword would be a choice... I kinda liked it... what else? Let me think... Crash Bandicoot? (ok, not a PC game and he had a wumpa-fruit shooting bazooka, but not in his hand exactly :P) ... I don't know... all great games almost always DO have weaponry

If you mean going by review scores, there is a clear bias in favour of violence, But I don't think that's because violent games are better, but because there are just more better violent games. We love violence. We love violence. All of us. Even those communist vegetarian treehuggers. They may say they don't, but they all laugh at that picture of a dead cat on the road with a sign pointing to it going free cat.

The only games I can think of that fit the three dimensional space & controlling a character criteria are adventure games. They rarely feature weapons or violence of any kind, and when they do it's mostly comedic - even cartoonish. Psychonauts is a game that I believe did not include a weapon in hand, given that the protagonist's brain is his weapon. Portal also matches your criteria, as the Portal gun is arguably not a weapon, despite its potential applications as one.

But yeah, weapons for everyone!

In Fallout you could be the game without engaging in combat thus not requiring a weapon. If Fallout and Fallout 2 you could beat the game as a boxer character, meaning you had no weapon (other than your fists). In fact, a Fallout 2 boxer was probably the easiest begining combat mode.

Grim Fandango (I don't recall a weapon at least).

Portal. Unless you consider the portals weapons.

Star Trek: Bridge Commander, ST: Armada & Armada II (pretty dated), Star Wars: Empire at War and C&C: Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge.

I'd also go out on a limb and mention GTA: Vice City & San Andreas if only for the possibility of open ended driving around realistic (and in the case of SA) and expansive environments.

I second the Myst series, by far the best games with no combat, with Riven being the best game of all time in my eyes.

The Rollercoaster Tycoon games are other good examples. Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure had you play an alien with suction cup hands, and you killed enemies by jumping on them (though you could drop bombs for getting past obstacles or using on bosses, but they were rare and seeing as how Cosmo doesn't actually have "hands," they don't really count). Lemmings is another. Most adventure games don't have weapons, and contrary to popular belief, a sizeable amount of them really aren't bad at all (I'm talking about a lot of the newer ones, not just the old classics). Lots of old DOS puzzle games like Heartlight, Robbo, and others don't have weapons.

I suppose you're counting games where you fly a spaceship (Descent, Raptor, Tyrian, Major Stryker, etc.) under games with weapons, as well.

I'm sure there's a game out there for you... that uses telekinesis to tear people apart and examine their organs up close.

Rollercoaster Tycoon is by far the second to greatest PC game toThe Sims, I can play for hours. I still really havn't seen a game that took part in a 3D space that didnt include a weapon that had great reviews though. Does Kameo have weapons?

Dreamfall had combat. :|

Anyway, most adventure games are non-violent. That's an entire genre that's virtually weapon-free.
