Well, after my SECOND Creative LabsSound Blaster soundcard went down, I decided to look for another 5.1 surrround sound card. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the specs on the Turtle Beach Montego DDL are just as good or BETTER than most other brands!

Being that it was only $59 for a DOLBY DIGITAL sound card, I took a chance and ordered it off their site this past Friday. Well, I received it yesterday--only two day shipping time factory direct, btw. After installing it last night and getting in a few hours of CS Source, I must say that I am incredibly impressed--both with surround sound speakers and 5.1 headphones! Why I ever wasted so much time on the so-called "high quality name brands" is beyond my understanding. I got my Xbox 360 headphones from Turtle Beach, and now I'm a believer in their PC lineup as well. In fact, I'm ordering my new surround sound headphones from them pretty soon! Trying to decide between the X-52 and HPA-2. Hmm...

Well, I hope this helps!

Interesting. IMO I think creative sound cards are over rated and over hyped; I have an X-Fi extreme gamer and i am constantly having sound issues with it (Creative is sorta lazy with their drivers I guess :x). A sound card i would recommend would be the Razer Barracuda AC-1. I installed one for a customer and I must say i was blown away by the audio quality.

Turtle Beach cards are not nearly as good options as an X-Fi for gaming thanks to no modern EAX support (the DDL only supports EAX 2.0, which is very old). However, I hear good things about it for general use, though some seem to prefer other brands over Turtle Beach for that, as well.
