I love adventure games, but there are a lot of old ones that I haven't played, so that's what I plan to do!

Going to start of with Grim Fandango, because I've only heard good things about it.

Does it work on Windows 7? Also feel free to recommend me some other great adventure games. :)

Excellent choice, one of my all time favorite games. I can't say for sure if it works on Windows 7 cause I'm still running XP (going to ride this one to the end), but I have a few other suggestions for you:

You may have already played some of these but I'll recommend anyway:

The Secret of Monkey Island (A special edition has just been released, with all the classic lines finally being spoken by the voice actors; I personally recommend you get this, but play it with the original graphics in between the dialogue)

Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (unfortunately I don't know whether or not ScummVM works on Windows 7, could give it a shot)

The Curse of Monkey Island (this one might be tricky to run, it took a bit of fiddling to make it work on XP, but try it anyway, my personal favorite)

Full Throttle (One of the best P&C games IMO, if you like bikes or anything like that you should love this)

Myst (never finished this but it's a good game nonetheless, a bit hard to get running, you need an ancient version of Quicktime; don't know if you can run it on Windows 7)

The Longest Journey (fantastic story and visuals; great game but the puzzles can be a bit confusing sometimes)

If you haven't played any of these then they are all good places to start when it comes to old P&C adventure games.

It wouldn't install on my 64-bit OS, so I had to download this:http://quick.mixnmojo.com/grim-fandango-setup

Going to start playing now! :)

Hey, I'd love to play Grim Fandango on Windows 7. I have the Home Basic version. Would appreciate it it anyone could tell me how to get old games to work on Compatibility Mode. I have other games like Leisure Suit Larry and the old Monkey Island games. Is LucasArts any more of these??

You don't need stunning graphics to have a great game. The game is a blast and a classic.

Like.. maybe because its a hell of a lot more entertaining, fun, and has a fantastic story compared to 99.9999% of all current gen games?

People don't buy games to look at them. People buy them, to play them. That's something some of you will have to learn, brother.

I have the original floppy disk version of Monkey 2 and the CD version of Curse, and with ScummVM they both run excellently on Windows 7 (when the files are manually installed on the computer). :) I'd love to play Grim Fandango, but I don't own a copy and LucasArts don't seem to be in a hurry to re-release it. :(

Same here. I've always wanted to play it but it's super expensive to get a used copy.

Grim Fandago has had issue with the last three ATI cards I've owned. Things like characters leaving pieces of themselves behind when they move... or the graphics going crazy during cutscenes... Turning off hardware acceleration somewhat alleviates the issues, but then the game doesn't look as good AND Manny's shadow leaves a trail as he moves... Anyways, it sucks. I would like to play the game again.

it seems to work fine for me. The graphics are fine, but the controls are so bad they make me hate playing it.
