Got the game and it looks and runs great (better than console version) for the first few minutes until all the world disappears completely.... not only that but i have two 4850's and the game only recognises 501MB! instead of 1024MB, which makes me think its not recognising crossfire at all.... i do have the 8.11 drivers... is there any solution to either of these issues
theres alot of issues going on for the PC version lately, so Rockstar confesses. I heard theres a patch for it.http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_news.phtml?id=120408_5 . In the mean-time, try running the game in windowed mode on different resolutions first, or google online to find about memory usage for games.
P.S : Btw did u get any problems with Rockstar Games Social Club application launch? mines gets a "Application failed to Launch" thing and says something about parental controls but im administrator anyway.
wait, hold that thought . I've got to add some more opinionated Solutions, but these are just suggestions, dont know if they will work 100% for you, but : 1.Check your video card driver again, COULD be, not saying it is, but could be at least one of the problems why the world dissapears on u. 2. Google on Games recognising less memory. If your a vista user, you'd probably get the memory problem and there may be some solutions to it. 3. Check your DirectX and see if it up to date. 4. Consult Rockstar Games' Support. Tell me if any of the suggested solutions work. If not, then I guess you gotta wait for the patch.
I have the same problem with GTA IV I run the game for 30 seconds and then the world just vanishes.
I have a 3870, Catalyst 9.1 and the latest DirectX, it only has happened recently though probably 3 weeks ago.
It also will make the world vanish if I goto the menu. I'm thinking it might be a hard drive problem because it started when one of my friends was copying some files from my computer.
