Just when you thought all video games were bad, and GTA4 the worst of the bunch, along comes a bit of news to make you rethink that position.

My comment: It's the same scenario when GTA4 got flamed, doncha think?

meh, I'm so sick of parents who can't seem to read the R18 label on a games cover before letting their kids play.foolyfoo
Why? I'm 24 now, but I was growing up when many controversial and mature games were first released, like Mortal Kombat, Duke Nukem 3D and the original Grand Theft Auto, and my parents didn't just let but encouraged me to play such games.
My parents have always encouraged me to explore sex, violence and other mature content from a very early age, but they were always there to put it in proper context and teach me how to deal with things like that... and I turned out pretty okay.
I'm a level-headed pacifist and vegetarian. I abhor (real) violence, but when it comes to games - I love it. And I've spent most of my life playing violent games and watching violent films.
I think parents should encourage their children to explore mature content at an early age - not too early, but around 10 or so, I think a child of normal development should be ready for just about anything, provided their parents don't use TV/gaming in lieu of babysitting, but actually teach their children how to deal with that stuff.

Sorry, what I should have said was "buying their kids a violent game and then complaining about it"
I also played violent games when I was young, but I have always hated it when parents buy their kids one of these games and then complain that its violent, they should learn to read the rating if they don't what their kid to play.
But yes I agree violent video games are fine for kids as long as they know its fake.

i know had i grown up playing violent video games, i'd be twice the man i am today. alas, i grew up playing adventure games, and, as a result, i am quite the *****. see? there i go crying again.
So did the car blow up or what?
That's a brave young girl and she's seems to be wise beyond her years. Her response to the reporter seemed as of an adult. How did she manage to pull everyone out at only age 11? She must be super strong. Her parents must be proud though. Another hero saves the day.
if the car actually did blow up then she would be a hero but anyone with a right mind is gonna get out of the car and walk back up to the roadMeyer1100
Exactly. I think this Rockstar's way of trying to rub off the bad rap they got from those boys going on a GTA IV rampage.
