Doesnt really look that good to me.. on the other hand im amazed that you can play this game with your specs,,, i have a quad core q6600 and a 8800GT and

the game kinda runs slow =/.. it just shows how bad this game is optimized...

Edit: Just watched the v ideo and it looks tons better than on your picture, i might give it a try again and see if i can get better framerate with patches

Yea the I had antialiasing set to off to some of the background looks jagged but the motion blur while driving makes it look soo amazing, when I first got this game it looked like absolute garbage and had to tweak the hell out of it just to get it to run at a half decent fps (10-15) should be able to play at least 25-30 fps once I get my new processor. One of things that helped me was turning off the CUDA processor on my GPU settings, this makes the game send all of the physics calculations to the processor instead of overloading my already old graphics card. Since the mods already add pretty decent shadows to the game I also set those to off and you can't really even tell the difference, it slows the whole game down tremendously with it on, vsynch on also helps a little, and if still running slow setting your GPU to preformance settings and then cranking up the graphics in game also helps (along with defragging your directory with contig.exe). You should be able to play it fine with your specs and the motion blur from realityIV while driving makes it epic :)

I think it looks good its just hes taken a screenshot at a really low res. With no AA GTA IV is one game that looks much better at a higher resolution.

Depends on the config, the one in the screenshots drains about 5-10 fps, more or less.

@Teh_Can: NICE Dude!

ENB Series is good but I heard it was very demanding unless you have a quad core CPU, RealityIV seemed easier to install and has more balanced effects without the performance hit so I decided to install that instead. If u have a really good computer it prolly wouldn't mattter either way.

Heres another good video that also shows its potential, some pop-in errors but still good quality and performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GF9sCWnfVOY

Better Render on higher settings, still noticed the shadows is what killed fps the most everything else not much at all.

Not bad for min. requirement PC xD

lol it works, looked like garbage when I first got it but now but after tweaks it looks tons better and runs better, also should run fine at these settings once I updgrade the processor so i'm not worried about it at all, no overheating problems either :P (GPU ~60-70 C CPU 50 C)

Also @Dakan45 the grains might from the rain but I think its the car pack because most of the models don't do this at all even at lower settings.

Why do laptops blow up when you play GTA IV? There is nothing wrong with playing games on laptops. Sure the hardware sucks but at the end of the day they still play the games if you dont mind lowering the settings.

I'm also planning to upgrade, should run much smoother once I do. I have a quad core but my graphics card only has 512 Mb Vram, and GTA IV really likes Vram.

Here's some more screens :D

It's a shame anti-aliasing isn't supported, jaggies kinda ruin it.

Nope, well it'll work but look like crap because a lot of effects will be missing like shadows and stuff. I think there's a ENB series more compatible with the latest patch though, still it has some effects missing

Alright luckily got the processor I ordered last week came in the mail yesterday and after numerous more tweaks I finally got it running smooth and looking decent on my old dell laptop :P

Before tweaks there were still major stuttering issues even with my updgrade (1.8-2.4 Dual Core) and I found that the speedstep driver on the processor was another main cause of this issue, for those with intel processors still having speed issues I suggest making sure that is turned off by looking at your BIOS settings. After that it ran much smoother with no sudden choking. Issues like this explain why most people need ridiculously high system requirements to run the game smoothly straight out of the box.

If you think about it doesn't make any sense why a weaker PSP can play a downgraded version of GTA while faster PC's with min. requirements can barely play it at all on a similar resolution without adjusting for the numerous errors, it really was a lazy pc port but nonetheless a sweet game after the tweaks and graphic enhancements are applied.

lol its finally semi-recordable and you can check out a video of the some gameplay below, appears slow but framerate is finally near constant and much smoother in the actual game, enjoy!

Oh yea forgot to say the motion blur is enabled when you set definition to off in your graphics settings, easy way to control in case it gets annoying, make sure you unzip the correct shaders into your common/shaders directory, he also released a newer one which is out of beta that you can check out here: RealityIV 2.15

I have the same combination of mods and its great, better city textures is much better than the ultimate textures mod.

However im running on very high and 1920x1080 so it makes all the difference, don't see any point doing this on a low power setup it would most likely run a few fps slower, very rarely mods increase fps.

I changed all my cars and added nos :P

You need to find a way to disable the GWFL client that requires you to have the latest patch to log-in. If you disable Live, you disable the prompt to update the game (along with the ability to play onlin). Search for Xliveless on google.

I like the custom cars, but whenever I use them the traffic loses diversity and ends up being made up of about 5 million taxis, some cop cars and whatever i'm driving parked everywhere. It's an annoying bug.

Nope, the creator said he's sick of making a new version everytime a patch comes out, it's like they're deliberately trying to stop ENB. There is a version for the latest patch but it wont look as good.
