Depends if you are getting the 896MB version or the 1792MB version. The 896MB one is the older version.

I played metro 2033 maxed out at 1920x1080 with your same set up except a E6550 overclocked to 3.0ghz. The only problem I ran into was the part at the end of the game chugged a little bit but besides that it was smooth sailing.

Both the C192 and C216 versions natively came with 896MB. The 1792MB version was more of a "specialty" made by a few companies.

I had a 260gtx before my 5850 and i can say that it was a good upgrade for me.Many people will say don't upgrade but from my experience i can play many game completely lag less with 5850 than 260gtx.I gained 15~20 fps increase(minimum fps) depending on the game, which is very important. And before u judge a gpu look for min&avg fps not the highest. PS:I game at 1920x1080.

I dunno, I have a GTX260 and I play most games maxed out (including GTA IV and Bad Company 2). Recommendable, it's a cheap and powerful card.

With BC2 you'll be fine with medium settings. Metro 2033 I'm not sure though. I haven't seen any benchmarks for Metro 2033. But if you're planning on playing at normal settings I think you'll be fine.

I have a GTX260 and I can max out BC2 and get 50+ fps. I can max out Metro, but it drops frames when the lighting is strong and there are a lot of enemies.

Yeah I turned off AA because it was unplayable. It was dropping to 15 if I remember right.

Yuk heres how I look at graphics. Low = crap, medium = barely playable, high = normal (this is what I go for). Anything below High is an automatic grimace on my face. I just OC my PC until it runs the game I want. GTX260 still running strong lol. People say watch out your gonna bust your card.... not if you do it reasonably. Sure you are gonna lower the life of the card but who uses a card for more than 5 years and thats pushing it lol.

I have an 8800GT and I can play metro on high in DX10, but @ 1360x760, I am getting really good FPS about 50-70. I can even go to very high in DX10 at that res but the FPS would dip into 30 and sometimes 25, which I hate for this game. You can play Metro on High, but you will have to keep your res reasonable, unless you are fine with about 30-40 fps. BTW the 197 forceware drivers do help, and DX10 has smoother framerates than DX9, it also looks better. OP, why don't you overclock your card, get some extra performance for free, last out for 2nd revisions of either AMD or Nvidia DX11 cards. Thats what I would do.

I don't know how that's possible. I have a Gtx 260(base) and I can run Metro on Maximum. It is very weird that you can only play it on Normal.
