I have the gtx 260 896mb one, is it normal for me to play bad company 2 in medium and metro 2033 in normal? spec: [Processor: Intel Core i5 Quad Processor i5-750 ] [RAM: Kingston 4GB DDR3 ] [GPU: XFX GeForce GTX 260 869MB ]Depends if you are getting the 896MB version or the 1792MB version. The 896MB one is the older version.

I played metro 2033 maxed out at 1920x1080 with your same set up except a E6550 overclocked to 3.0ghz. The only problem I ran into was the part at the end of the game chugged a little bit but besides that it was smooth sailing.

Both the C192 and C216 versions natively came with 896MB. The 1792MB version was more of a "specialty" made by a few companies.

I wish this is true. because i OCed my E7400 to 3.5Ghz and i have a GTS 250 1Gb. this means i will play it at high. With BC2 you'll be fine with medium settings. Metro 2033 I'm not sure though. I haven't seen any benchmarks for Metro 2033. But if you're planning on playing at normal settings I think you'll be fine.So is it normal for me to play bad company 2 in medium and metro 2033 in normal?

So is it normal for me to play bad company 2 in medium and metro 2033 in normal?

I have a GTX260 and I can max out BC2 and get 50+ fps. I can max out Metro, but it drops frames when the lighting is strong and there are a lot of enemies.
Weird, i saw benchmarks of metro 2033 and bad company 2, and the fps wasnt playable for metro 2033[QUOTE="Kahuna_1"][QUOTE="szafto"]

Drop it to normal and its perfect :DI dunno, I have a GTX260 and I play most games maxed out (including GTA IV and Bad Company 2). Recommendable, it's a cheap and powerful card.Crimsaderhell i have a 9800 GT with a 1GB GDDR3 and an i5-750 processor and can play crysis on high, havnt tried metro 2033 but i plan on picking it up sometime soon but from what ive seen with crysis on my PC i have no doubt i can play metro on high

I can even go to very high in DX10 at that res but the FPS would dip into 30 and sometimes 25, which I hate for this game. You can play Metro on High, but you will have to keep your res reasonable, unless you are fine with about 30-40 fps. BTW the 197 forceware drivers do help, and DX10 has smoother framerates than DX9, it also looks better. OP, why don't you overclock your card, get some extra performance for free, last out for 2nd revisions of either AMD or Nvidia DX11 cards. Thats what I would do.
I don't know how that's possible. I have a Gtx 260(base) and I can run Metro on Maximum. It is very weird that you can only play it on Normal. Is this a mid range card now, have to play metro 2033 in normal settings for it to be playable, should i wait for the gtx 400 series and buy one?
