There is nothing morally right or wrong about being inept, therefore it cannot be ethical nor unethical.

GummiRaccoon

Actually there is. If such a one takes a position in which an informed/experienced individual is needed, then yes, it is unethical. Taking that perspective into this situation, what should stop me from calling you "unethical" when you so desire to identify my ignorance to ethical theory (thus claiming an informed position on the topic), and then taking said inept position by resorting to insults when a rational argument is presented?

Problem is that both companies "sponsor" developers so how is Nvidia worse then AMD? It's not, AMD branding like in Dirt 2 anyone? and other focused content from either company. Just because Nvidia throws more money into games or use proprietary features is not unethical. Its called business, The only time its "unethical" is when one company purposely driving its competition to go out of business using cheap tactics. Like Intel vs AMD , buying up all patents, offering bulk deals no one can refuse, purposely gimping/breaking software for the other guy (physx does not count, its just extra icing). aka beating up the little guy. Each company does their own things to draw in customers with exclusive features.

i guess intel bribing pc makers to favor intel cpu's over AMD's was also just business? Too bad they got hit with a couple of $billion in fines. The way I see it, nvidia is just repeating what intels already been through.

Just stop with the nonsense and bashing Blaze the more you bash the more you show yourself as a uninformed AMD fanboy. Nvidia is not doing what intel did.....

those specs look pretty damn robust. I really hope nvidia dose not make the 680 2 feet long, and consume a kilowatt of power like the last few cards.

I hope that at least 2gb Vram is a standard for the new Nvidia cards.

Length who knows, but the TDP is suppose to be 190w same area as 7970. And why do people complain about an extra wattage usage when most people that build high tier gaming pc's use more then 500w psu. a 6970 uses 207 watts while GTX 580 uses 240 watts big whoop... and yet GTX 580 is the faster card.

This is abit of a noob question but since these new cards are PCIe 3.0, does that mean you can only use them with a PCIe 3.0 mobo? Or can you still use them with a 2.0 mobo??

PCI Express 3.0 is backwards compatible. Works with 2.0 and 1.0 mobos

Won't be surprised if this was true. next gen begins this year so they're releasing a gpu rdy for next gen engines (ue4). if this costs over 600$, fuk this.

Next gen of consoles are going to weak compared to last ratio wise (ie 360 vs 2005 based Pc), WiiU will most likely to have a gpu in the performance range of the 5670 or 4830, The next xbox will likely be based upon an AMD APU like the Trinity architecture using a 6670 based gpu with of course their own modifications. Who knows what Sony will use besides a modified Cell based cpu. They can sit back and wait what Nintendo and MS does this round and use a gpu that wipes them both. But also you dont realize that if the specs are true for GTX 680 a $600+ price tag is darn good price to performance ratio compared to GTX 580 which was $500+ at its launch and didnt really outclass its previous successor GTX 480.

One of the things that USB and PCI-E sought to fix was backward compatibility issues. back in the day we had ps/2, serial and parallel ports (along with any ports add in boards had), and on the inside of the computer there was ISA, EISA, PCI, 64 bit PCI, AGP. There was basically no compatible anything between those things.
