Both. But if I could only get one, it would be GW2.

If I had to get one, it'd be Guild Wars 2 'cause I haven't played an MMO in a while and to be honest, Borderlands is a mixed bag for me: great combat and loot hunting addiction but I think the sense of humour's lame, the graphics make the world feel tacky, the quests are typical MMO quests and everywhere's a ghost town with still NPCs. Borderlands 2 seems the same.
Having bought both now at launch I have already played Borderlands 2 more than I have GW2.

Borderlands 2 has much better writing and quests so far. While the quest are still pretty standard tasks they actually have small side stories to them now (so you'll get 2-4 side quest that all have to do with the same side story) so they feel less like fetch quests.
That being said if you didn't enjoy Borderlands 1 you still probably won't enjoy 2. Even though it does almost everything better than it's predecessor it's still at it's core the exact same concept.
GW2 has a personal story thing, and story versions of dungeons, and 99% of the content can be played without having to create a party. as for borelands 2, if it was anything like the first, the quests (in fact the whole game) are just boring fetch quests you'd expect from a poor WoW clone, and gear grinding.[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="true_gamer007"]
Taking advantage of the discussion, i want to ask:
IF I WANT TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN, WHICH ONE IS BETTER.
Are they actually focused in single player campaign? I want to give them a try.

Lets be honest the PvE is just average in GW2, there are MMO's that do it much better. GW2 main attraction is the PvP content.
If your looking for a SP campain game Borderlands 2 is a better bet, but it's still made to be a co-op shooter and is about 10x as fun with other players. Also comparing Borderlands to WoW is ignorant. Borderlands is a FPS where the gameplay is the main driving force as opposed to WoW where progression is. No one cares what the quest are in Borderlands because it's fun just shooting things and finding new weapons.
Personally if your not willing to play co-op in Borderlands 2 or participate in the PvP in GW2 I would skip both and get Dark Souls when it comes out for PC. It's an amazing SP (though it has MP components) RPG.
It's actually the other way around, PvP is average at best, PvE however is outstanding and that is by far the main attraction, since not a lot of people are into spvp and there's nothing really close to decent PvP in wvwvw.both original games are boring and overrated. both follow ups will flop.

oops?
I have both and am liking Borderlands 2 (even though Borderlands 1 bored me).
Buuuutttt.... I'm LOVING Guild Wars 2, and that's saying a lot since I usually don't like MMORPGs. It's just such a great game ^_^
Agreed...I'm having trouble trying to balance time between the both of them. As for GW2, couldn't really care. I'm sure it's a great game for those who still enjoy this type of (played out in my opinion) MMO, and it does seem to be a good value...I'm just done with MMO's like that. IBorderlands 2 is specfu*kingtacular So is Torchlight 2. I am super happy.
