your all wrong ....everyone dislikes GW because the lvl system sucks ....... and there is no armor or weapons(barely any)

like you can only go up to lvl 24 thats pretty gay and the roots between cities is disgustingly hard if your doing it alone..

When it comes to which game is better it all comes down to which one you play first and how long you play it. I played Guild Wars for about a year before I even tried WoW. I tried WoW when my brother got it for me for Christmas. I played WoW for about 2 months. I would have stopped after the first month, but I thought that I would give it at least another month. It really does just come down to which game you give your commitment to. I think it is extremely funny how WoW people always comment about how in Guild Wars there aren't enough unique items and nice armors and whatnot. Well my question to them would be compared to what? Anyways FYI there are literally HUNDREDS of unique and rare items. Some of which are so rare that they are nearly unattainable.

What is the deal with people complaining about leveling in Guild Wars. I like the fact that the game isn't all about leveling. I think games are missing something if they focus on the leveling aspect too much. Are you playing a game or are you playing simply to level?

Guild Wars does reward level 20's though. Guild Wars has plenty of high level areas that are accessible to very experienced highly skilled level 20's. Read up a little on this. I could go into this more, but it would be tough to explain this to someone that does not play Guild Wars.

As far as graphics go Guild Wars has that in the bag hands down. Everything in GW looks better than WoW even weapons, items, and armors. In WoW the different items in the game actually give you a significant advantage over your enemies that may not have access to such items. In Guild Wars the thing I like about it is that you can have the best gear in the game and you don't have an edge over your opponents. Your edge comes down to your knowledge of the game and the skills you use. That said after playing Guild Wars since day 1 I have some of the rarest and most expensive items in the game. Including FoW armor for all my 10 characters. I have one of each profession in the game plus a couple PvP slots and about 4 extra slots for storage space.

Ya right, everyone dislikes Guild Wars, yet they have sold over 2 million, probably more.

And it is about your skills and how well you use them, not that you are lvl 100.

If it was so digusting hard to do alone, maybe it is becuz you lacked the skill. Cause while it can be challenging at times, it was never disgustingly hard, as you seemed to experience.

Ya no armor and no weapons (barely any). Um, Ya, ok, w/e man, if you say so.

i got factions played it for about 10 min and then gave up on it, wasted $50 for 10 mins of game play, i really did prefer WOW for once zbiggie
lol 10 minutes and thats it. Your opinion is as worthless as they come. You have no right to say anything about any game that you only played for 10 minutes. Well you have to right, but don't expect anybody to take your opinion serious.

It's very boring and its graphics are horrible, if you want a good online game, download one from the internet and you will get the same quality.Hellfireknight
Man, you must think wow's graphics blow chunks then. I mean there is no way you can sit here and say GW graphics are bad and think WoW's is good. If thats the case, you are just like the guy in my above post. Nobody will take your opinion serious in the slightest bit. Even people who play WOW (and doesn't act like a blind fanboy) will admit GW has the better graphics.

I used to play WoW, but the quests got repetive and I got fed up with high level instances. A year an a half ago I started playing GW and I have been playing ever since. Juste make sure that you give it more than 10 minutes... get to level 20 and do some real cooperative stuff.

Oh yeah, many others have said this already... Faction = PvP
Prophecies and Nightfall = Pve

F1_2004

omg, i covered this already. Factions has crap skills and classes for pvp. Prophecies and Nightfall are much more important if you plan on doing guild vs. guild and such.

lol just because you suck with the sin and rit doesn't mean they are no good. Express your opinion all you wish, but don't act as if it is fact when is isn't. Everybody already knows (well except YOU obviously) that Factions is the best for PvP. Give it up already. Giving your opinion once on the same subject is fine, but when you do it over and over, it seems as if you actually believe it to be fact and not just your opinion. Thats just not going to be allowed. I refuse to allow people like you to mislead others into thinking Factions sucks just because you suck with the 2 new classes that are added. Both classes (sin and rit) are great in PvP. Besides my ranger, my rit and sin are my favorite to play Alliance Battles (PvP) with.

it's odd how nobody mentions that ArenaNet is currently working on Guildwars 2. potentially, it could mean thatthe current generation is on its way out, regardless of the upcoming update The Eye of the North ( which is, if i'm not mistaken, connected to GW2's storyline as well ).

when GW2 hits the shelf, there's gonna be ahugecommunity migration, not to mention the current community is already well past its prime. Anet states that they would keep supporting GW as long as people play it, true, but the thing is, how many would stay? more importantly, data between GW and GW2 is NOT transferable. which means, TC, that if you're planning to invest a good amount of time on GW your effort will soon be wasted.

but, if that's not the case, and you're only hoping to check the game out, by all means, go ahead. it has been a great game afterall. :)

Jinroh_basic
The developer has already stated that GW2 will release in 09 at the earliest. So we still have some time.

Personally out of all the MMORPG's i have played, guild wars in in the bottom 3. The graphics were okay, the gameing wasn't as exiting as i thought, and there only being 20 levels it only took about 4 days to do all i wanted, and then it was just repeting itself.

[QUOTE="F1_2004"]Fact - assassins and ritualists are the least favoured classes in PvP, and chapter 2 skills are relatively weak in pvp, therefore chapter 2 is the worst choice for pvp (and pve for that matter).mindbender244

What are you talking about? There are assassins EVERYWHERE...

Well his biggest mistake was trying to say his opinion is fact. I lost all interest in what he has to say after reading that. He for some reason thinks his opinion is fact.

lol lvl 24, I knew the moment I read that, that you have NO clue about GW and have NEVER played it. You can only reach lvl 20, not lvl 24. GW is more about skill and not lvling. If grinding all the time to lvl is your thing, then by all means, get WoW. But if you are more interested in the gameplay and less about lvling (or you hate grinding to lvl like I do), then GW is for you.

lol if you have FoW armor for all 10 of your chars, then you cheated and bought GW money off the net. Either that or you have absolutely NO life and spend all day everyday playing GW. So which is it? I am hoping you say you cheated and bought the money off the net. I hate to see people turn into complete losers because they spend their life on a game.

Actually I was the leader of a farming guild so gold was never a problem...ever. The last calculation I remember getting from our treasurer before I took a break from playing was over 5,000 ectos and an additional 40-45 thousand plat. Anyways it is very interesting that you would say I have no life cause at one point I didn't. I was hospitalized in 2004 from a car accident. All I could do was go to rehab and play computer games. Luckily now I am back on my feet and working again practically good as new. Once I was done with the rehab I pretty much cut back on my game playing quite a bit. Besides who are you to call anyone a loser for playing a video game? There are alot of people who play video games that never come to a video game message board to talk about video games. In the future it would be very beneficial to you to not jump to conclusions and judge people so quickly. What does my life or how I live it have anything to do with you and why would you care? Anyways I am at work and I can't just sit here talking about video games all day...

i made a assasin btw and i think i didn't like it because i didn't play the first one i started off with factions and night something.

but i was basing it on diablo 2 ..not that long to lvl and i couldn't remember if it was 20 or 24

the only thing i liked about GW was the combo system it was the only good thing i can remember thats what made PVP so sick but thats abou it sorry its my opinnion :S

I played GW for 2 weeks, hated it and sold my copy.

GW graphics are garbage, so I don't know where people get off saying that they are better than WoW. I'll take the vibrant environments of WoW over the green/brown/gray static crap in GW. I don't know who decided on the GW color pallet, but they need more than 6 colors. What killed it for me was the level 20 cap, the limit of 8 skills at a time, and the retarded item creation system. I don't play WoW anymore, and haven't for quitesome time... but it took me over 2 years to get tired ofWoW whereas GW lasted 2 weeks (and it wasn't even a GOOD 2 weeks).

I've played GW along with the expansion (fractions & NF) for a good amount of time now. (6-8months) Now I'm completely bored off my mind. I'm not bashing the game or anything, but I think I reached my limit on GW. For the most part now, I just stand around town talking to people. I usually play on my warrior from NF, which she has 15k Kurzick, ElementalSword, Colossal Sword, Zodiac Sword, Jade Sword, Celestial Sword....armor dyed black, .....and now I feel like I reached my limit. Of course, I can aim higher for those tormented weapons..., but I really dont have much interest in those items.

I've also done "The Deep" "55monk farming" "UW Solo trapping" and alot of other stuff.

Too funny!

How nice of you to protect me from the flames, but if I get flamed for liking Guild Wars, so be it. The game is an awesome game and I dont care what anyone says or thinks. And of course every game is going to have those that don't like it. I have always said that if anyone remotely interested in Guild Wars should at least give it a try. I've had several of my friends try the game and they have loved it also. You hated the game and sold it to me pretty cheap, man what a lucky day that was for me, because since then I have played Guild Wars almost everyday and still do. Heck I even created a MEGA-THREAD about Guild Wars, I loved it that much lol!

So again I thank you, and I don't do drugs, so its not that! ;)

And all the nay-sayers, flame away! haha! :)

Apparently "Into the Pixel" thinks the graphics in GW are pretty good.

Selected from more than 260 submissions, this years exhibition will be comprised of artwork from the following games: Half-Life 2: Episode 2, Guild Wars, Team Fortress 2, Fable 2, Dewy's Adventure, Dawn of War, Blacksite: Area 51, LAIR, 300: March to Glory, Viva Pinata, Rayman Raving Rabbids, Red Steel, Eve Online, Formula 1 Championship Edition, American McGee's Grimm and Darwinia.

Into the Pixel has established itself as the interactive entertainment industry's most prestigious opportunity to showcase the art of the game, and celebrate the artists whose talent creates these stunning images.

Bottom line, as I see it:

Prophecies and Nightfall are GREAT games, plenty to keep you enjoying them for a long period of time, no monthly fees, and you can still maintain a very healthy life along with playing GW as a hobby. Made some good buddies in the game, especially while playing Hard Mode, where its important to stick together to get through it.

Great investment, and more to come with the expansion in august.

I don't know if it's been stated before. But from what I know and hear, I'm pro Guild wars because of its graphics and the fact that it is free from the annoying and costly monthly fee unlike most other mmorpgs.
