You should try getting off of the newbie island before you give up on the game. At the very least, get to level 20 and join a guild, find some people to play with. If you give up on everything so easily, WoW isn't going to be any better.

Edit: Actually, going outside and getting some sunlight would be a better choice. You know, meeting real people, developing social skills.

Given that lv6 is less than nothing in Guild Wars, or for that matter any online game, yes...stick with it. WoW is vastly inferior.

That's kind of cheap. Was there even a point to that?

Either way, one's free per month, one isn't. Go get both.

Well I played guild wars when it 1st came out, and that game was pretty fun for a while. Also played Wow, and I spent all the time i could everyday at my computer playing. Very addictive and it steals the life right out ya. I really liked the art style of guild wars(WoW was a lil too cartoony for me), and its free to play too. I would probably think the player community is better in guild wars than in WoW. Ppl can be **** in that game, and you often find that its filled with elitists who think they are better than everyone. Despite that, WoW was very enjoyable.

So really, if you want a game with a really large scale world, and wouldnt mind paying $15 a month, i would go with WoW, its a very fun game. Otherwise, you would still have fun playing Guild Wars, and its free to play. :)

Agreed. WoW is filled with dumbasses who think they are cool with their gear they got after raiding hours upon hours without seeing daylight, but it is a good game nonetheless if you can find a guild with friendly mature people. Guild Wars is good too but for me it became boring because I could never find a good guild and after finishing the missions, there isn't much to do but start over or PVP, which I found not fun.

Maybe you should follow your own advice. Not all people are social creatures. The cause of every persons biggest problems are other people. Think on that before advocating unconditional love for your fellow man.

I fore one liked Guild Wars vs Wow a lot more because you dont have to waste so many hours lvln up to lvl 70 and need all that good gear. I played both and i guess i stopped at 25 for wow it took me 3 weeks to get there and i just got bored. Way more fun to just be at lvl 20 and go pvp. But for either game you should have friends to play with. Be good to have rl friends in it and if not find a nice mature guild. After that its basically what do you like better pvp or finding gnar gear for your char.

If your not sure about either of them...why not try some others. EVE online rocks and then theres the upcoming Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning...which is going to look very similar to WoW but play ery differently..RVR FTW!!

hmm. When i usually play games i love customizing my character. Making him look cool and strong. That's what i really liked about oblivion. You could go around and explore without even doing the quests (even though they where kind of fun). From what you guys are saying i think i would stream more to a game like WoW since it has all the elements i am looking for in a game. I did play some more guild wars and it is getting pretty fun. But i know that it's going to be collecting dust in a matter of weeks or mabye even days.

BTW I'm not really sure if I would like the idea of player vs player since ive never played any type of MMO so it's out of the question for me right now

which is why I love guild wars... most of the 'elite' guys in there are really nice people, GW has the best community ive seen in any online game, ever. The elite guys have soo much patience, and when you finally actually get into the really really high end stuff of the game it is MUCH more fun than wow (I played WoW for about 9 months) and with the titles system and GWEN and GW2(which will be a 'full' persistant MMO) coming out I think GW really has everything going for it...oh and the PvP is brilliant too ;)

nightfall doesent really pick up until a mission involving a big scrap and lots o splosions. its the 3rd ot 4th mission. u need to get to lvl 20 to do it (or close to 20 anyway).

also have u tried all the different classes. ive found that some people just prefer the play style of one class compared to another. personally i prefer elementalists, warriors, paragons and mesmers. paragons are really fun imho.....sort of the backline comander rallying the troops on (or course u cane be more offensive than supportive with paragons too depending on the skill u have). im not a big fan of the dervish or ranger but u might prefer them.

Well I play both WoW and GW when I have the time, I would say join a good guild and give the game some time. Noob isle Kinda sucks, give the game some time join a guild and see if anyone wants to start a new character and give you a hand.

Comparing this game to WoW doesnt really make sense because GW isnt a MMORG and WoW is. If you want to try out WoW go to their site and download the 10 day trial. But If youve decided to give up in GW at Level 6 you probably wont like WoW, it takes more time to get a decent character in WoW than in GW.

Nightfall sucks at level 6. You get a quest to hit level 10. How great... I actually stopped playing it at level 8, because that was the only quest I had left and I just didn't want to grind.

Guild Wars and WoW are too different things, but they still refer to the same thing :)

I'm a Guild Wars player and I play Nightfall campaign. I have been playing it for 5-6 months now, beat the game and now there is so much to do. I'm trying to get expensive armor, farm for gold, items, titles, PvP, In-game festivals and events and much more. Try out different builds and see what fits you better. Guild Wars has really great graphics and it is fun as you advance in the game.

There's a huge number of bosses and skills that you can capture. New Hard-Mode addition makes the game 2x better.

My 2 cents.

WEll getting to the question i think that its kinda hard to judge them both. I prefer playing guild wars because of the diversity of the game that drew me to it. Wow drew me for a while but then i decided to give it a reest cause it grows on you and your money:P. Also the game willl get better after u past lvl 6 caue there is way more things to do like farm pvp and do other things"Who do u want me to kill"

lol You haven`t played GvG, no teamplay there and you are dead in a minute. WOW is better in PvE where killing bosses is one of best things in whole game. But Guild wars is pretty PvP game and is very balanced, there is no skill that is best.

From my pretty extensive experience in both games, I would say Guild Wars is alot deeper in the sense of skill. Most times or not WoW requires common sense and alot of time to burn.. I am by no means saying its a bad game but once you hit the cap and all your doing is improving your character one dimensionally through little improvements in gear that may take months gets tedious and rediculous.

From what I have seen in the end when you play WoW you never really improve in skill past a easy reached level and really only improve your character by months of play by little steps. Guild Wars there is a limit for your character, but your skill grows immensely specially when it comes to pvp. In the end I think WoW's pvp is over-rated to all hell at the end game. Skill has little overbearing next to gear when it comes down to it. Because you can only keep a Warrior with immense amounts of hps and purple gear at bay for so long intill he rips you to shreds because you can't take the punishment or dish out the hurt in your blue and greens. This only makes matters worse when its incrediably easy to hit the cap and face those people with no real time spent outside of the game.

But don't get me wrong I liked the game alot on the way to high 50's to 60. After that it took a nose dive. Guild Wars is a great game, but unfortantly you will never get the great feeling of finding a item because there is a very low cap. But watching some of the top GvG battles can show you truly how intense the game can be.

Ugh, why is this topic so done to death, you are comparing two quite different games. Guild Wars is Online RPG in the same esteem as Diablo but allows an MMO enviroment in towns, and WOW is a true MMORPG with a persistent world where you can meet anybody anywhere and plus WOW has a monthly fee GW does not. The reason WOW has monthly fees and still is more popular then GW is because it offers a more complete and cohesive world and offers much more content. Lastly GW focuses on PVP, while WOW focuses on PVE but with a decent pvp system with limited support and content. But, keep this in mind, if you are getting tired of GW you might find WOW more of the same but much bigger and broader. So just do a 10 day WOW trial and make up your own mind and not solely take the opinions of other strangers.

Hey man, stick to GW a little more. I've never played WoW so can't say much about it, on the other hand I love GW and have been playin it a lot lately. I think that your problem is that u jumped straight into NF, the problem of this is that u dont have a solid skill tree for the original 6 classes, so I would recommend u to stick with a Derv or Par 'till u get the others. Other problem is the hero system in wich u give your heroes skills unlocked in your account (same issue as before, and u really need good heroes). So u may need a little time to collect all the skills that u need and stuff.

Besides that even with only NF u cant go wrong, first leave Istan, when u get to the continent you'll get a better feel of the game. The PvP is great, the community is very friendly (in general) and it's a really fun game that u can play as much as u want (if u only have 20 min to play u can jump into PvP or do a quick quest, if u have all day u can go Team Arena, GvG or some high lvl cooperative missions) the point is : u never get out of things to do in GW. So give it a little more time =)

I say play NF for a week after you get your first lvl 20 character. Give it time. There is a ton that you cant even do at this point. So much stuff, I am not going to waste my time or yours listing it all. It is a very deep game with a ton of content and you have two other full games to explore after that. There is also an expansion coming out on August 31st for GW that is for lvl 20 characters. If you only have one character, you are missing out on 9 other professions that are played completely different from the character that you have now as well.

go play wow and then guildwars and find the first major difference that pops up in your head, That fact the the majority of guildwars is instanced and WoW is not. WoW's pve is free for all guildwars is not. WoW's pvp isfree for all anyone can come in at anytime and change the balance of the fight where guildwars has instanced pvp. Guildwars isn't actually an MMO hence they can afford to make their servers run for free without charging monthly fees. WoW's a massive MMO crowded iwth other players you meet everywhere you go not just in town selling dyes or in their own little groups pvping hence their no costs and why it fails when compared to great MMO's like WoW with more content and more player interaction.

Anyways, I have played all PC and Console games and I have been gaming for a long time too, and Guild Wars is one of those games that has brought the most fun to PC Gaming ina long while. So if you don't think it is one of the greatest games ever made, that is fine, you have a right to your opinion. But you should really think about how your responses come off.

Anyways, at least you liked Prophecies I think... :?

depends on what you are looking for in a game, WoW offers a larger community, yes there is a monthly fee but you get updates throughout the year, the expansion adds more things to do but in a much larger scope than what is given in the monthly patches.

GW offers a great online game that is free to play online, you get updates but not in the form of new content just fixes, if you want new content you shell out money for the new ones that come out a few times a year.

its all dependent on what you personally want to get out of a game.

Honestly, you haven't even given Nightfall a chance at all.

There is so much to the GW universe that you couldn't have possibly done more than scratch the surface of the game.

GW offers a great online game that is free to play online, you get updates but not in the form of new content just fixes, if you want new content you shell out money for the new ones that come out a few times a year.Kudorath

That's not entirely true - we've been getting new content every few weeks, it's just not as common as new content for WoW.

Exactly the Mallyx quests in NightFall comes to mind. A pretty nice FREE update at that.

Why do people say that, you know u play games too, he is asking a simple question about the game, and you act like your all cool saying he needs to get a social life, thats a joke man, your registered on a "gaming forum" too.

Personally, I find WoW a LOT more enjoyable than GW. Guild Wars, yeah its free and stuff, but it just felt like one of those games you could download on the internet that was free and play (Conquer, Flyff, Fiesta, etc.) WoW actually brings a new element to me. Now a lot of people complain about getting to level 70, but to me, it is just another challenge. Every game needs to be challenging or else it gets insanely boring. WoW actually just brought up a new system called Achievements for people to unlock to create even a wider challenge in the World of Warcraft. Now the universe of WoW can be a little weird, but no matter what, people always look for teamwork. Sure some guys may be total d**ks, but if you are a team player, they will be a team played.

Now for the part that really difines WoW's uniqueness over GW. People claim that GW requires skill for having 8 skills per class (from what i have heard on youtube and stuff. ) Now seeing this, WoW seems to require a lot more noting you get 61 skill points, son 71 when Wrath of the Lich King comes out (max level is going to be 80), and that makes every character that much more unique. For example: my priest is level 45. There are three specs (specifications) that you can choose from. Holy, the healing tree for people who like to heal, discipline, the survival sprec for people who want to support than heal or damage, and shadow, which does DOTs (damage over time) and is about finishing enemies fast. Now each spec has a list of skills you can put talent points (just like skill points in). Now to me, this seems like you can create your own unique, and personal, character that you would enjoy to play. WoW also has yearly events that add to the fun, and has many raids (high level instances) that requires up to 40 people and is very fun to participate in.

Now GW, being free, does have that one advantage. But in perspective, WoW does have the ultimate outcome. WoW has a lot more flexibility, Online players (true fact), more gear and weapons to customize your characters further, more challenging events and overall a higher difficutly than GW.

As this person on youtube stated, "Low max level, 8 skills, these are the things that don't scare people." To me, that is the opposite. Having characters with little customization creates no fun.

So overall, to me, WoW is ultimately greater than GW.

Right now i'm playing guild wars nightfall and i have to say is that I'm getting bored and im at lvl 6. Do i have to wait some more for the game to actualy get fun? Is WoW much more of a better game? Its summer, and i want a really good MMO. Should i stick with guildwars or should i move on to another game like WoW? Thetik

It is physically impossible to find WoW fun if you find GUILD WARS BORING. The PvE in WoW is the most tedious thing I've ever done in a videogame
