it depends on a few things. in short, if the case is big enough to fit the new parts. if it is, it is possible. although some of the newer cases give some good airflow throughout.
Well, it all depends on what case you have. If you have a good case, then by all means, reuse it and save some money. However, I think the case is arguably one of the most important components since it'll likely outlast all the others.
It is wiser to just (when you're already spending $500-$1500 on parts) to just shell out the extra $100 or so and get a decent, new case. This also allows you to maintain your old computer untouched as a backup machine.
