@FelipeInside: Going to watch some twitch streams

Ok, so I took the plunge, tried to join a server and have to wait 1Hr 30mins? WTF?
Also no way of organising servers and NO PVE servers in Europe.....Not best pleased so far
As bad as the release has been, one would almost think this is an early access alpha game. ;)
The game has been unplayable for about 10 hours now for nearly everyone. Early access or not, you don't release something that is completely fucking broken. You do what's called an "open beta" to test this kind of thing out.
Well, I'm assuming the'll likely do a beta test, open or closed, when the game is actually in beta stage, and not early alpha.
It gets even worse...
The devs said over and over that it will ABSOLUTELY NOT be "pay 2 win" in any way at all. What do air drops (that cost money) give you? Guns. Big lol.
There is a chance of guns. There's also a chance of getting nothing. That doesn't sound pay to win to me.

The whole point of early access is to improve the game. Also, you flat out lied about it being unplayable for 10 hours. The game unlocked around 5 or 6 PM EST because there was an issue with Steam certifying it. Then there were login errors that got sorted out by around 1AM. I know this because I was playing around 1AM for a little bit, and that's when most of the streamers actually got into the game.
When has a company released an open beta of a game that were releasing in alpha stage as early access? Oh right, never.
This is early access. You know exactly what you are getting when you jump into it. If you aren't willing to put up with it then don't buy it.
Actually quite like it so far. A bit rough but some nice touches.
If you find a bow, guard that thing like it's the lost ark. Best way of killing shit.
I don't support preordering
I don't support paying for a game to beta test it
I don't support developers that blatantly lie to consumers
I've finally gotten a chance to put a good bit of time in it so far. So far the only thing I really don't like is there is barely any loot. The second thing I don't like is that hydration and energy drain WAY too quickly. Even DayZ wasn't that bad at first.
I'm still figuring things out but I found a combat knife, which I can use to skin animals. I know which bushes give berries, and which trees I can use to get wood sticks to make my bow and arrows. Headshots kill zombies instantly, but the game is so laggy it makes it hard for me to nail them.

Oh sorry, 9 hours. My bad. I know the point of early access. They could have released an open alpha test then to at least make sure the game was playable and the servers were okay. There is no excuse for releasing something that is completely unplayable especially from a developer like Sony. Stop making up dumb excuses like "b-b-but it's early access!". On top of all of that shit they lied about pay 2 win things. They clearly said only cosmetics can be bought for money on their twitters numerous times and said you can't buy anything that affects the gameplay with money. Air drops drop high end weapons, often times right on top of you. I was thinking about buying this but I lost all interest in this game from the pay 2 win garbage. No way in hell would I play a survival game where you can pay real money to survive. That defeats the entire fucking purpose of the game. Keep telling yourself "but there's only a CHANCE to drop a gun". Spend enough money and you'll have the best gear in the game. No thanks, I'll stick with Day Z instead of $$$ony's pay 2 win cash grab.

I saw the same streams you guys did last night and without these changes i think it's fair to call it P2W.

Someone is shitty at math.
They don't have to do any such thing. Everyone who bought this game knew it was going to be rough. If you don't expect this kind of thing with early access, you're delusional.
Oh god, they made a mistake! Good thing it's early access and that's exactly what this form of release is meant to do: Find bugs and improve the game.
Someone is unbelievably salty about all of this.

No kidding it's gonna be rough but rough =/= completely unplayable on launch. I bought Day Z on launch and it was rough but it still worked perfectly fine for me. I'm still interested in the H1Z1 if they can iron out a bunch of shit in the upcoming months but buying it on launch seems far dumber than preordering GTA V, no? You complain about people preordering GTA V and then buy a broken mess of lies, where's the logic in that?

It's far more acceptable for an alpha to be unplayable at launch than a $60 AAA title.
No. Seeing as Rockstar has no credibility with me and SOE still does.
I like developers who admit when they're wrong. Rockstar never apologized for GTA IV. Nor does it seem like they've learned from it.

Well they're admitting they fucked up and that's definitely a good start. They also just said this...
I think the air drops are dumb in general. Something that made Day Z awesome is you never know what's around you or who is nearby. It added a lot of tension and a level of paranoia. Having an air drop forcing people to fight seems really meh to me. They might as well just make an arena shooter with zombies around you. It just doesn't seem very "survival" to me but hey, it's a different game than Day Z.
And here's a bigger update on the air drops:
Update about Airdrops and my personal apology
Hey guys, first I want to say thank you to all of you, even the ones that are very upset with us. We have received an overwhelming amount of support and feedback from everyone and the dev team is all working hard on all of the current issues and I appreciate your patience as we try to get H1Z1 up and running smoothly. We are a little over 24 hours in and it has been and absolute roller coaster.
2nd I wanted to address what I said in an earlier stream with NGTZombies prior to our release. I said you cannot buy a gun or ammo and it had to be found in the world. When you are on a stream, and you are talking about your game, you tend to talk a million miles an hour both to keep the information flowing and to keep it entertaining. But sometimes things get said without completely thinking about what you are saying 100% through. H1Z1 is a massive game with a lot of systems, some of which we were tuning every day and finishing last minute. When I said you can't buy any guns or ammo, I completely disregarded the possibility of airdrops and meant that you can't buy a gun or ammo and have it go into your starting loadout, or your loadout immediately like you were buying a gun from the gun store.
All that being said, I totally understand how what I said was at the time lying to you guys and I apologize. But please understand that's not what I was trying to do. For those of you that don't know me or understand me, know that I'm not trying to be this monster that is conniving and lying in hopes that you get tricked into buying the game. I am very passionate about making video games and I want more than anything in the world for people to love the games that I am a part of making.
The dev team loves airdrops, and in testing, every time we used one, they were highly contested where the person who actually called in the airdrop had to earn it through a gladiator style brawl. They usually weren't the one that ended up with the airdrop but no matter what, the person who called it in was satisfied with the event that they got to make happen. That event is the magic we are trying to capture with everyone. The last thing we want is it to be a boring item that someone can sneak around and quietly get to find gear without it being contested. In our opinion that is basically cheating and nobody should be able to do that.
Whether you agree with us or not, that is how we want airdrops to work. We are going to be tuning them throughout early access until we can get them to work that way, here are the first pass initial changes.
1) Make the plane move slowly (53% of current) This increases the ability for other players to react to the plane coming in.
2) Make the drop fall more slowly (80% of current) This increases the ability for other players to react to the plane coming in.
3) Less accurate maximum drop radius (was 250m now 700m, so with these settings it would drop up to 700m from the calling player)
4) New minimum distance of 250m for airdrops to appear from a player. This is a little less than ½ the player density of 700m distance with 120 players on a server. Therefore more players are likely to be near the airdrop when deployed.
5) Increase the minimum number of required players to 120 (a little higher after more discussion about player density being important to keeping airdrops contested)

PC Gamer: H1Z1 now listed on Steam
I'll be brutally honest, DayZ will always hold a special place in my heart for creating the concept, but I have much more faith in SOE releasing a polished and enjoyable product within a reasonable amount of time.
I plan on dropping the $40 for the deluxe edition.
Anybody else going to pick it up?
H1Z1 is way better than both DayZ, DayZ Standalone and WarZ / Infestation.
If you have the extra money grab it now.
I've been playing it for days.
Here is the link to try it out - https://www.h1z1.com/home
