Half-Life Series Future

So, I bought Half-Life 2 last month, and I loved it. Bought episode one and two, and when I finished the second episode I was pissed.. what an ending. What will happen now to the franchise? I mean Episode Two, was released a couple of years ago, and still no news about Episode Three or Half-Life 3.. only a few rumors. What do you think it will happen? Do you know something I don't? Please keep me informed about this terrific game :)

I've not seen any details or release date for either episode 3 or a HL 3, but I hope there will be a conclusion to the series.

Maybe valve is just not sure from a creative standpoint how they want to end this great franchise, or they want to make it so good, every idea seems like a non starter or they just want to take their time and have an organic creative process that will result in great PC game, instead of either rushing out or buckling under the pressure to produce a sequel thats not worthy of its predecessors.

because Half-Life is good the way it is, add some new features to the game, but don't turn Half-Life to a generalized FPS!!

I'm hoping we round out this story line with a full-length game on a new engine called Half-Life 2: Episode 3

and then soon afterward a full Half-Life 3 still starring gordon freeman.

i think valve is trying not to ruin half life.

some high quality franchises have been a bit overplayed latelylike cod, madden, halo

My theory is valve is waiting for the next wave of consoles before they release half life 3, they want to make an awesome game with an even more awesome new generation engine but there is no point if current consoles will bottleneck it.

I would laugh my ass off if they just resurface the next year or so: "Oh, hai guys! Damn long comercial break." and name it Episode 3.

Valve should just make Half-Life 3 a PC exclusive that takes advantage of the best computing power available today.
