Most of all, I am just disappointed in Microsoft. Call me crazy, but when you get a publisher with near-infinite resources and a developer such as Bungiewith a rich history (Oni, Myth series) I just expect a lot more.

Oni was an absolute POS. My worst(thankfully when it came out my mom's) Worst purchasing decision ever.

.....sorry I just had to say it :D

Ya, it wasnt well received by critics or the public but if you gotta past the quirky nature of the game it was a great blend of hand to hand and gun combat. Very cool art direction as well...I remember it was almost cell-shaded in a way (like TF2).

I actually never even looked at the reviews until around 2 years after I bought it. I was actually happy that a lot of people thought the game was crap lol.

The game used normal 3D graphics. I guess it looked cel shaded in a way because of the colour palette used but that was it. The thing that just really pissed me off about the game was its unfairness and horrid story. Late in the game it's next to impossible to beat without just pure luck, as when multiple NPC's hit you, you're pretty much done for no matter what. Not to mention the dumb buddy AI in the one level that you have to fight alongside your buddies.(Although that was actually my favourite level in the game, either that or the airport one)

The story is by far one of the most incomplete stories I've played in a very long time. Have you gotten to the end of the game? Completely unfinished in the story department. It's like bungie just decided to ship the game even though they knew they weren't even finished the whole game yet.

There, I've finally let off my steam about that game. :D It' a good thing I was able to buy it for 19.99 or else I would've been even more pissed off.

I'm about halfway through the game and I know that this goes against the prevailing opinion, but I'm enjoying myself. Sure, there are problems --- the graphics are dated, the game menus are cumbersome and confusing, and I experienced patching problems involving Windows Live that caused BSODs --- but old graphics doesn't mean they're bad (they're not), the game runs smoothly at 1280 x 1024 on my rig (C2D 6300, 8800 GTS, 2gb DDRII) with most options enabled, and the switch in characters between Master Chief and the Arbiter several times during the story gives it a depth that most shooters don't achieve. I also appreciate the variety in spoken dialog; most games have the same phrases being repeated over and over, but I'm constantly hearing dialog in Halo 2 that I haven't heard in the game before, and much of it is very funny. I haven't gotten to the multiplayer mode yet and I haven't tried the map editor, but I'm having fun with the single-player campaign.

And for the achievement whores out there, you get Windows Live achievements at the end of each level. That alone is worth the investment... 8)

I like it and enjoy it a lot, but then again i'm a mad halo fan.As for the price tag i'm on the border with it. The graphics are 3 years old and they really didn't change from the xbox besides aliasing and higher resolutions that being said they don't look bad either. If you run everything on high and such you should be fine. IDK what people say about the controls, but I think they are good. I've tried with both gamepad and mouse and even though they are better with a gamepad the mouse and board are good too. I like the xbox live addition to the game. The SP is ok at best not great. The achievements were also a nice feature. Now here is the bad news. Nothing really changed besides the 4 new maps and the map editor. Vista is required. The game was basically made for the controller(specifically xbox 360 controller for windows). As for the online it is good and I didn't really expierence much lag, but I played it on march 22nd when very few stores had it so I can't really tell you how the MP community is like. As for the halo bashers seriously come on. There is no need to bash it to the extent pc gamers take it. I can understand about halo 2 but not the first since it was great for pc as well. I think it's because it came out for a console first and pc gamers needed to wait 2 years to get it idk, but it shouldn't be bashed like that. If you are wondering why I praise the game so much it's because i'm turning 16 so halo was like the most fun I had with an fps since goldeneye back on n64.

If you havn'talready played Halo 2, and you alread have Vista, then yes. its a fun game, and its usually only 37.99 or less, so its a decent deal, I'd recommend it.
