Who thinks they're going to make Halo 3 for PC?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
yea a lot later what they should have done is make it come out for pc and 360 same day and do cross platfrom battle kinda like what they did with shadowrun execpt that game sucked
Probably later on like they did with halo 2.rascoqazbut Halo CE took 1 year so how do you know it will follow Halo 2's footsteps,i think MS is gonna see how bad Halo 2 scored and there gonna have to release is sooner or when it's released can take advantage of it's newness and editors can't call it dated. also halo 2 took 4 years cause MS realized 3 years ago they can make it exclusive to it's new OS, so i can assume seeing at how close Halo 2 launched to Vistas i can bet it was gonna come out sooner but MS saw a chance it can get people to upgrade to Vistas
I just been playing it on my 360. My mate brought it up. How the hell this game got 9.5 is crazy imo. My mate is halo mad but i just dont see anything good about it. Graphics are average to poor, weapons feel weak. I guess ive been spoiled by all the PC FPS goodness over the years.
I almost bought it due to all the hype but thought id play it first. Glad i did. Orange box on PC ftw!

yeah, it's coming, but not for a while. i want to play it, as i do gears of war and fight night 3, and i'd even settle for halo 2, but i'm definitely not paying $40 for an old game that's not even all that good. if that's microsoft's attitude with halo 3, as in they'll release it 3 or 4 years after its initial xbox release and charge full price, then i'm going to switch to apple and get a ps3 or wii.
M$ knows the market and it will eventually run on PC.
@ the same time they will be offering a knew OS and a new console.
Even if they workout all the cross-platform kinks, PC gamers get a late start.
Until the games are released on the same (or close) date for all games on all platforms,...I see PC gamers not really caring.
My thoughts,...peace.

Not gonna happen. Halo3 is currently selling bigtime and making sure quite some people buy a xbox360. Microsoft wants people to buy a xbox360 for Halo3 with Halo3 in whichever order but they most certainly do not want people to only buy the PC version.
I think the earliest we can expect a PC version is in about 1.5 years, if ever...

This is so bullcrap... I don't believe you have played Halo3. It does not look crappy at all, the gameplay is superb and although it's hyped indeed, it's most certainly not a bad game or less of a spectacular game as any of the top PC fps games. Orange Box on PC doesn't look half as good... Team Fortress 2 looks downright outdated, HL2:Episode 2 is the continuation of an engine that's getting old and so on and so forth. People should get a little bit more objective about these things... Halo3 does not suck, eventhough it's hyped like hell...

Yeh, that sounds about right. From a business point of view bringing it to PC would be a bad idea. Ihave both a PC, and anX360 for the exclusives, and thats exactly what they want, double their income.
Same at the moment I don't care. Halo for XP sucked. The graphics were direct x 8 ffs.
I don't see it coming anytime soon until Vista has its first service pack.

It's def coming to the PC why would they bring Halo 1-2 and skip the last chapter? not everyone is gonna buy a 360 for halo and the sales will slow down alot after 1 year cause thats how hyped games sell once the hype dies the sales do to. i think 1.5 years is a good time frame and about right. Halo 2 took for years cause it was waiting for vistas to get people to upgrade OS(wich is MS main BZness) if Halo 3 is Vista only and comes out next year it would boost Vistas sales. PC's betetr cause we can mod it and the GFX can be as good as our PC.Halo 3 is a great game; amazingly fun to play. I own it and I've beaten, and once you get past the fact that you have to use a controller over a mouse and keyboard, its great. It has a perfec tsense of action mixed with tactical play, with some great vehicle sequences and an amazing cinematic feel. Play the last level and you'll know exactly what I mean.
The main reason I think Halo can't make it as big in the PC market as it does in the console market is because split screen co-op and multiplayer don't transfer over as easily. I know you couldn't play coop out of the box with Halo 1, and I think you couldn't with Halo 2. Yes yes I know there's mods and what not, but seriously, whats easier than having somebody come over, grab a second controller and blasting through the campaign. Or, setting up two massive TVs are your friends house with 2 360's and playing through the entire campaign on Legendary. I tell you, you haven't experienced Halo 3 in its full glory until you've done this, it's outrageous.
In closing, Halo 3 is a great game, and try this thread of bashing Haloin System Wars. It will probably come to the PC in about 2 years.

I hope so but tbh its right on the edge of next gen and putting it on a PC even with slightly higher rez and better AA/AF in 2 years time against DX10 FPS games would make it look very very stupid.
Its a great game and imo if any PC gamers can afford a 360 they should get 1 its a lovely lil console that offers a few games that the PC lacks and some great racers, arcadeyand action games that are not on PC. Buy a 360 I own a lovely powerful Lappy but I must admit I aslo love a bit of gaming on X360 whether SP or online which though lacks PC options it is still great IMO as it just is a quick chuck on MP blast fest and if you have a good crowd on Friends list is brilliant. I am one person who wants to see a similar setup on PC's for gaming. But I must be the only one.
But Halo3 is a now game and if you play it in 2-3 years well it already is beaten in the graphics department by many of todays games. But its still a worthy game and shows that graphics are not always everything. But I'd love to play it on PC now so I could just knock up the AA a few notches...

Great post.
I love PC gaming but in the last few years a lot of the community act all threatened and biased towards consoles. Which is maybe due to a new young breed of PC gamer coming through but as a mature gamer I can say that i think theirs room for owning a PC and Xbox360/PS3/Wii.
As much as its easier to use a K&M once you get used to using a controller it can be as much fun if not more fun than using a K&M. Yes you lose accuracy but since when has using a gun been as easy as pointing a mouse cross hair overr it (yes a controller isnt much different). Its so damn easy to get kills that for me it killed Half-Life 2 with K&M in SP but I played it again connecting a X360 to my Lappy configured it and wow the game was soooooo much better and enjoyable. Its true that some shooters (ultra realistic) like Op Flashpoint ArmA etc really need K&M but not many games even on PC are like that now. Anyway I know I'm gonna get blasted but in the last 1-2 years in SP games I have swayed towards using a x360 controller on my lappy. Tis a strange thing at first but after a while it becomes second nature.
But Halo 3 is a brilliant game. I play many shooters on consoles and PC's and H3 is up their with the best. Its certainly a lot more enjoyable than my last FPS PC shooter Stalker.
But its a forget about game for PC gamers unless you get a 360 as if it ever comes in 2-3 years it will look hideous against DX10 graphics enabled shooters.
PC gamers are Hermit wich means we game alone so Split screen is really not important for a PC game. as long as the game has online co - op it's ok. PC does not need split sceen cause hermits and PC gamers always play alone. no one says hey Bob lets go to your house and play some PC. no they say lets go play PS2 or 360. Consoles are for Multiplayer in 1 house. PC is for 1 person. I can care less about Split screen games for my PC.(PC Desk, seat, setup restrict multiplayer anyways) basically PC's 1 player console. i like it like that, "Get your own"Halo 3 is a great game; amazingly fun to play. um haha have you ever held a gun? it's more like a mouse than a Analog stick. aiming just requires moving the gun, it's as responsive as a mouse , not lose and touchy like a analog stick. hold up you don't even need a gun move your right hand up now pertend your aiming. does is it slow or fast? oh it's as fast as you want.. thats right.[QUOTE="nikita121"]Who thinks they're going to make Halo 3 for PC?

no thanks, i dont play stupid games, but it will be ported later, who cares when we got crysis...
games can't be 'stupid' people like you however...
Probably later on like they did with halo 2.rascoqazso it'll be the same thing because again bungie wont change a thing, have you seen GOW for PC they're changing the whole storyline along with new levels
Halo 3 will come to the PC some day, but it will probably be in two years or so. Microsoft won't want to move it to the PC until they're sure that it has sold all of the XBox 360's that it can sell. I'd like to see it sooner than that, but oh well.
I think HALO3 will be released on the PC. I for one cant wait... I love the HALO series, Not for is graphics or its story, but for its gameply. when you play HALO, you can see that the team behind it took the time to think about what needs to happen. From what ive seen on the web, HALO3 is an amzing game. 9.5 was a big high in my option, but thats just mine. Havent played it yet, but i will hopefully soon...
Halo should find its way to the PC in a year or so... similar to how GOW panned out. MS have to give it time to sell as much as it can. Even though we dont like it, that business. As for consoles vs PCs, i believe that they serve two different purposes. Consoles are there for group fun, friends come over, and all have a good time playing together. PCs are there for intense realism. not that games on the console dont look good or play well, its just that PC was the advantage of better graphics, easier control and more functionality... hell even the PS3 is exported all over the world under the banner of PC...
cheers...
Wow, another Halo thread, and the same old argument appears. Not even going to bother anymore.
Halo 3 is a great game. Bungie really pulled out all the stops on this one, and any shooter fan should play this game.

yes, on the 360. That is the point I'm trying to make. Halo 2's score on the pc, pretty much shows that you can't port the things that make Halo great.
I would love Halo 3 to come out on the computer since I just saw the tournament.
It looks so awesome.
