I was playing Halo 2 PC online when a team "bungie .net staff" member told me that Halo 3 PC is under development. He wasn't on the development team, so he didn't give me an ETA but did confirm it is being made! This is so awesome, I can't wait!

The guy most likely was actual bungie staff. It said so behind his screen name in special fonts. I have screenshots of the conversation on my XFire profile. There is no reason it can't come out for PC. There have been several Xbox 360 game ports. Halo 1 took 2 years to come to PC, Halo 2 took 3 years. There is still time based on this time frame.covertgamer78Halo came to PC because xbox failed badly that cannot be said to 360

Put an "under" in front of development and your getting there
I still havent forgiven Microsoft for not including co-op in their conversion of the first halo, er HALLO? What part of Halo had everyone going crazy er yeah I think it was co-op explain again wtf it was killed on the PC?
Laziness? incompetence? greed?

Please just stay tuned for further announcements on the issue, thank you

Literally anyone can log into a Halo 2 server, put BUNGIE at the end of their name, and say "Halo 3 for PC is under development."
I think you've been had, my lad.
A month or so ago there was a discussion on the Gearbox forums about some 360 exclusive (forgot what it was) and someone wondered if it would ever come to PC. A Gearbox employee jumped in and said something along the lines of "how about a Halo: Reach port?"...
We all know Gearbox handled the first Halo port and the vehicles in Borderlands are a straight port of the vehicle code from that game.
Here is a screenshot of the conversation that went on in the server lobby. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a screenie of him saying Halo 3 was "in development" until it had scrolled by and I couldn't scroll back up to it at that point. If you look at the top name, it states he is bungie in the watermark. He said he is the only one from bungie that actually plays Halo 2 PC.
I think all the Halo 2 you've been playing is making your brain rot. And probably the same could be said for the Bungie staff member, too. ;)
In all seriousness, I very much doubt we'll see Halo 3 on PC anytime in the near future, and even if we did get Halo, why not give us Reach since it's going to be the next great thing?

Better erase that same picture from your xfire profile then
When I was about 5 there was always this kid who had an uncle working for Nintendo. Funny how my childhood is coming back in this thread.Vfanekrofl yes indeed thats what this reminds me of :D
If Gamespot had said the same thing in Rumor Control, you would all be drooling over this. I don't claim to have any more validity than Rumor Control, I'm putting this out there so everyone can marvel that this could happen, like I am. I shared this in other website's threads and the news was received much more positively. Something will leak in a few months and prove me right. When it does, remember my thread and how this was complete nonsense to all of you. You can not believe when it is actually released as well and I will be pwning on the servers because I had so much practice in H2V. :Dcovertgamer78It's almost like you believe your own lie. The age limit for gamespot is 13 or so I believe, you should head back to the sandbox, someone might even believe you there.
[QUOTE="dannenissan2"]Hi! Gabe Newell here! I'd just like to say that we've cancelled episode three and we're working on another exciting release of Left 4 Dead. Ok, thanks, bye! -Gabe NewellBaranga
It's funny because it's true.
Actually... 0.03Not sure why my brain is rotting cuz I'm sharing inside info with you people. Everyone's brain here is in stasis from playing video games, yourself included mister level 38, 3370 post count, that's a lot of Gamespot browsing!covertgamer78
33 hours of Halo 2 THIS WEEK? That's what persuaded me to make my comment to begin with. You must really be sucked into that game.
And, uh, no. 3370 posts isn't really all that impressive considering I've been a registered member for, oh, only seven years now. 2003 and counting. Most users would have 10-15k by now.

I thought we were all game fans here, no such thing as playing too much Halo 2 or any game. I've been reading this site since about 1999, finally registered in 2005. I believe this is one of the first game sites on the internet, so it's been around since 1996 IIRC. I may have scanned it back then too. Point is, we are all serious gamers here, so one finger is pointing and three are pointing back. You have to play Halo 2 that much to be competitive and I still run into people all the time that are better.
Halo is still hugely popular on PC, check that XFire link in Baranga's post.
Yeah, no. It would never be made by Bungie anyway since they will start working with Activision after Reach and MS owns the rights to Halo.inoperativeRSGearbox did all the ports.
True or not, they're 3 years late with Halo 3 and would be better off doing a Reach Pc version. It's new, fresh, current, there's a lot of hype surrounding it. The sales would at least be decent in comparison.
True! Although I wouldn't mind seeing Halo 3 on the PC. Yummy graphics version of H3.True or not, they're 3 years late with Halo 3 and would be better off doing a Reach Pc version. It's new, fresh, current, there's a lot of hype surrounding it. The sales would at least be decent in comparison.

Halo 3 is pretty much stale at this point with Reach on the way, why the hell would they port it now?
I meant to edit out the bungie staffer's name from my XFire profile screenies, but XFire won't let you make any changes at all to your screenshots. Here is the other screenie I took while the conversation was taking place. I deleted the XFire screenies from my profile since you can't edit them.
Maybe we will see Reach in 3 years when no one will care much more than they do about Halo 3 PC now. XD I've never played Halo 3, so I'm stoked about this.
