I see no reason why they would. Even if they had money to throw around.Halo 3 is pretty much stale at this point with Reach on the way, why the hell would they port it now?

True! Although I wouldn't mind seeing Halo 3 on the PC. Yummy graphics version of H3.Well that's what was supposed to happen with Halo 2 and it looked and played like ass compared to the Xbox version.[QUOTE="DigitalExile"]
True or not, they're 3 years late with Halo 3 and would be better off doing a Reach Pc version. It's new, fresh, current, there's a lot of hype surrounding it. The sales would at least be decent in comparison.

One time on the original Halo for PC I pretended I was Ken Jennings, the guy who won like 100 times on Jeopardy about 6 years ago.Lol? Do you honestly believe this after hearing it from a random guy on the internet?
What if I name myself "Blizzard CEO" and tell you that you'll get the first copy of Diablo 3 for free?

Look, no matter what you want to try to verify with some level of proof, i think what would be extremely helpful to back up your claim would be an official statement from Bungie. In the meantime I have no choice but to dismiss your claims as hearsay evidence. As it stands i'm a tad skeptical. I would love to see Halo 3 and all for the PC but i doubt its coming.
You should read my posts, I never said I'm making an official statement.covertgamer78
And I never said you did.

Reach would be less believable based on the Halo series track record of taking years to come to PC.
Halo 2 plays and looks waaaayyyy better on PC than Xbox. There is a comparison on this website of the two versions. The Xbox version textures looks so blurred compared to the PC version, plus you can greatly smooth out the jaggies more on the PC version.
As for an official statement from Bungie, like I said that will probably come as the finished product is close to production. You shouldn't take my post any more serious than a Rumor Control update. You'll probably need a really high end PC to play it though, H2V lags like crazy on my PC.
It lags mostly because of server lag. I put the game to run with one core and it stays close to 60 FPS constantly in SP, not that way in MP. I talked to the bungie staffer again last night and he said the same thing, Halo 3 PC is being worked on. Didn't say Reach was being worked on for PC, only Halo 3. I'll post what he said verbatim. It took them years for the other 2 Halo games to come to PC, that's the way Bungie does their PC ports. I'm getting it when it comes out.
This guys watermark states he is bungie staff, not the president of Bungie. He didn't even bring it up until we pointed out his watermark. The president could tell me the same thing if I met him online.
Here is part of the conversation we had on my server last night in Halo 2 PC after I invited him to my game. This is word for word verbatim:
me: people been bothering you about Halo 3? Halo 3 PC?
bungie staffer: No, I never tell stuff like that [almost never]
me: good plan, how long you guys been working on it?
bungie staffer: I don't know exactly but the Halo 3 guys started some months ago
bungie staffer: But they were also doing other stuff, i don't know what
me: kewl, no one believes me when I say Halo 3 PC will come out, so your secret is safe XD
bungie staffer: Don't tell it to everyone
me: it is highly probable I let the cat out of the bag but no one cares, everyone wants reach for PC
bungie staffer: Me too, I haven't played it yet
me: think they'll do that one?
bungie staffer: I really don't know that but they are porting Halo3 maybe they will also do reach
I don't take this to mean Halo Reach is coming to PC any time soon, it means he thinks they could do it, technically. He is confirming Halo 3 for PC in this conversation.
Nice that you put a conversation up that you had that you could have just completely made up just now on the spot. Still offering 0 real proof to back up your claim. /shrug
I will say that this thread doesn't fail to bring the lulz
I'll post an edited screenie when I get time. Why is everyone so uptight? Do you all spaz over Rumor Control too?Nice that you put a conversation up that you had that you could have just completely made up just now on the spot. Still offering 0 real proof to back up your claim. /shrug

I'd like to believe you I really would. What Bungie staffer wouldn't have played Halo Reach by now?
Also why would a Bungie staffer tell a handful of people in a game?
Microsoft have said that there is a high end PC game in development, what that is could be anything including Halo 3 or Reach. Last time I heard anything "official" from MS regarding Halo 3 on PC was probably over a year back when the spokesperson for the PC segment said it was not even on the cards due to the poor sales of Halo 2 PC. MS recently pushed forward to the PC market with a few new games. I still don't think the chances are very high.

prove it, or it never happened !!You do know that anyone working for any games developer has to sign a strict non-disclosure agreement, right? By breaking an NDA, you put your job and future career at serious risk, and face further legal action.
Now, do you really think a games industry employee would openly just give a completely random guy in a Halo 2 lobby confidential information about a Halo 3 port, knowing he could very likely lose his job over it and effectively end his career in the games industry?
Plus, do you really believe there's anyone left at Bungie who hasn't played Halo Reach yet?
Gears of War runs well if you use D3DOverrider to get the framerate to match your monitors refresh rate. I don't care if any of you believe me or not, its all the flaming I don't like. The developers of Reach are the ones that get to play while in development, not the rest of Bungie. He could be an admin there or something they probably wouldn't have access to new games as they are being made, I don't know what he does. He said he doesn't go around saying that kind of thing online. When we were in the lobby the first time I met him, I stated "OMG, I would play Halo 3 PC 24/7 if came out" That cajoled him in saying "Halo 3 is in development", so I was fortunate he said something. It's taken them years for the other Halo games to come to PC, Halo 3 would fit that time frame perfectly. Reach would not. Here is an edited screenie of our conversation ingame.

This is a little off-topic, but I once met a guy on runescape (no, I don't play it anymore) who said he worked for the company that made the game. I didn't believe him, but he gave me a bunch of high level stuff and left. Didn't ask for personal information or anything.
On-topic, if they add some PC features like dedicated servers and mod support, it might be pretty good. And an option to change the FOV.
Again man this doesn't prove anything. Could be anyone saying that to you honestly.testfactor888Well, I'm not posting his name inadvertently again. I would hate for him to get in trouble for sharing this awesome tip with me. I think there is a good chance Halo 3 PC will show up one day, belatedly.
Interesting. But I think there might be a Bungie staff tag and a Bungie.net staff tag, which are notthe same. So this could be somebody like a forum overlord or moderator, such as Achronos. Still a very credible source if picture isn'tphoto shopped.
[QUOTE="Baranga"]that makes us 2 I'd give that a crack.Halo 3 + ODST in one box.
Day one buy for me.

That's why the Borderlands vehicles felt so familiar and I picked up controlling the vehicle so quick! :) So Halo: Reach won't be coming to PC either?A month or so ago there was a discussion on the Gearbox forums about some 360 exclusive (forgot what it was) and someone wondered if it would ever come to PC. A Gearbox employee jumped in and said something along the lines of "how about a Halo: Reach port?"...
We all know Gearbox handled the first Halo port and the vehicles in Borderlands are a straight port of the vehicle code from that game.

BTW, Microsoft and Bungie now co-own the Halo IP. I don't know how Microsoft would develop Halo 3 PC when Bungie created and developed it from scratch. Just because Microsoft co-owns the Halo IP doesn't mean Bungie won't continue to make Halo games or else they wouldn't be making Reach. This guy I am interacting with online evidently works at one of the offices of Bungie's newest partnership.
Bungie wont be working on new Halo games any time soon because they are now working on their Activision game-series. While I'm sure you believe this random person on Halo 3 is legit, without any proof nobody else here will. Especially since rumours that Halo Reach is being made for PC have been starting on the Gearbox forums, and if any developer is making a Halo port for PC it would be Gearbox, as they did the fantastic port of the original Halo, and weren't involved in the terrible port of Halo 2. There is no evidence that this person you are talking to works at Bungie unless you tell us his gamertag (and show us a screenshot with the tag in it) so we can check it ourselves.BTW, Microsoft and Bungie now co-own the Halo IP. I have his bungie.net account name and GFWL gamertag as well. If I can prove he is not legit, I will tell everyone who he is, nothing to lose then. If I can prove he is legit, I will have to keep his name in secrecy to keep him from getting in trouble. I found a screenie of nameplates you can mod in H2V, his was one of them. His is also one of the legit nameplates too, so it could be either. Trying to verify him somehow now.covertgamer78Even if you "prove" he is legit, you can only prove it to yourself without revealing his gamertag. Basicly: Do whatever you want, none of us will believe you because you can't prove squat to us.
[QUOTE="inoperativeRS"]Yeah, no. It would never be made by Bungie anyway since they will start working with Activision after Reach and MS owns the rights to Halo.SAGE_OF_FIREGearbox did all the ports. And that makes it even less probable that a Bungie rep would give out information about the port. I'm not saying it won't be ported at some point but this 'leak' is not real.

Hence why the studio 343 will be taking over the Halo series after Halo Reach.
