Well it makes sense, bungie made a nice fps called Marathon before halo and it was a MAC game, but as always Microsoft is making developers to make games for their xbox, like it happened with epic games.

I didn't know that, so that's an interesting little tidbit. Can't say how the Xbox franchise would've fared without Halo, but I wonder if Mac gaming would've been more prominent had Bungie stayed its course.

Halo was not a crysis game that required 30 millions to create, I am ready to bet that 95% of it's cost come from advertising the game itself. So, as a mac-only game, it would have been profitable actually. Let's be honest here, the only reason Halo is popular is because of M$ insane advertising. I remember back when they released the xbox to have seen several advertising of Halo inside my Pc gamer. Including a 15 pages directly taken from OXM, again inside my pc gamer.

hahah I remember seeing previews of the old Halo on a gaming show on tv when I was a kid, but it's no secret that it was originally for Mac. Marathon was a mac fps game made by bungie that shares similarities to Halo, it even featured in Red vs Blue when Church gets sent back in time.

Also interesting is that Halo was originally going to be a third person shooter.

Halo originally was an RTS, then changed to a 3rd person shooter, and then finally the game we know today.

There is a widescreen FOV app for Halo, which also allows you to play 3rd person. Not that you would.
