That article is for if you have 2 partitions on one hdd. Im just looking for how to remove windows xp on my new hdd and make it a second drive for my original windows xp. randy7Boot from your OLD hard drive. Go into the system management ("Start" > "Run" > "diskmgmt.msc") and select the new hard drive. Right click and select "Format." That will erase ALL files on the new hard drive, but this will allow you to use the new drive as storage.
There are 2 options for operating systems.Which one is which and which one do i delete?
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)Windows ="Microsoft Windows XP Professional"/noexecute=optin/fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)Windows ="Microsoft Windows XP Professional"/noexecute=optin/fastdetect
randy7
The first one should be on the second disk (that's the one to delete).
