Facebook games can hardly be called games, they use extremely tedious and repetitive mechanics and are complete cash grabs that require you to spam invitations.ampivaAren't MMOs sort of the same thing...?

That's their F2P model. It's a system that caters to people that genuinely play games 'casually', in a sort of dailu routine.Could'nt help but notice that most of the flash games utilize "energy" once you run out you just don't want to play it anymore also they urge you to buy credits

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"]Isn't EVERY game repetitive?Elann2008Life is repetitive. I want a "restart" button. :P Restart was soooo 2002. We have time-reversal to avoid unnecessary restarts.

Facebook "game" are simply timesinks and cash pits for bored moms and kids. Nobody would play them if they weren't free, so they run a cash shop to make money and make it repetitive or difficult to do whatever emaningless crap you do to make it look like a good idea to buy points or items.
Depends which games though. I agree Cityville, Farmville etc (mostly from Zynga) are games which let you play for free but at the same time you need friends playing the same game. Other games like Words with Friends are awesome though.Facebook "game" are simply timesinks and cash pits for bored moms and kids. full of pop ups and cash shop crud.....Zynga is a total waste of the talents of Brian Reynolds..ttomm1946The thing is, that Zynga has done well in that they have created simple free games and make lots of money off them. They should now limit the pop ups and just concentrate on making their servers stable.
I don't use facebook.

Neither do I. I Never have and never will but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the games on Facebook, much like the website itself, aren't worth my time either.
Why would anyone play a FB game?
If I want to play something casual, then I'll boot something real, like Bejeweled 3.

But but...there are RPGs on Facebook.....hehe.They go off the same addiction philosophy as for example WoW and Diablo3. All about getting new items and doing new things with them.actually forgot about one game I like on Facebook ...
Hidden Chronicles .... enjoy the item search gaming experience but no way will I pay real money to play this game

I wouldn't call them games, and yes, they all work that way (so do the majority of smart phone "games"). They make it fun and simple enough so any idiot can play and get somewhere, and then once they've got you hooked they put a brick wall in front of you that can only be overcome by either grinding for weeks or spending more money. The sad thing is that it seems to be working.Could'nt help but notice that most of the flash games utilize "energy" once you run out you just don't want to play it anymore also they urge you to buy credits

Honestly its sad because developers don't have any other idea to earn money than to urge players to buy credits that run out in less than a couple of minutes The sad thing is that it seems to be working. My fault I think gamespot has eaten my reply but anyway using credits is different an F2P mmo still has currency that allows you to buy decent enough items that will let you survive throughout the game. But with games made by zynga you have to have credits even if you get them for free you are still urged to buy some
Uh....maybe you should be concerned that you're on facebook more so then what games it offers.
I don't see any point to the site or others like it.....then again, maybe it's just me.
It probably is just you. FB has a bad side but also a very good side, like everything on the internet.Uh....maybe you should be concerned that you're on facebook more so then what games it offers.
