they are games for daily tasks, not to play for hours and hours.FelipeInsidedaily tasks are daily tasks. exactly what part of daily tasks involve the playing of the game? none. i'm sure there are some decent games on facebook but those zynga -ville titles aren't, at least based on what i know of them.

"at least based on what i know of them." Exactly. You haven't played them but I have. Daily tasks are things like checking your crops for example....they expire in a determined timeframe so you need to go in each day, harvest them and plant more. You have to think how many to harvest and plant depending on what you need to finish goals...and how much energy is needed.
[QUOTE="Kintaro_Oe_25"][QUOTE="pspman1997"]I wouldn't call them games, and yes, they all work that way (so do the majority of smart phone "games"). They make it fun and simple enough so any idiot can play and get somewhere, and then once they've got you hooked they put a brick wall in front of you that can only be overcome by either grinding for weeks or spending more money. The sad thing is that it seems to be working. Why is it sad? It's just a legit strategy to earn money. I think the guys at Zynga are genius, I wish I would have invented that company. They create something addictive and then make you pay for more.... just like a F2P MMO.Could'nt help but notice that most of the flash games utilize "energy" once you run out you just don't want to play it anymore also they urge you to buy credits

Personal taste, great for Zynga's bottom line, bad for me, I think it's sad. I am not going to pay real money for some pretend currency in a game nor should I have to. This is right up there with releasing downloadable content the day a game is released.
I know the FTP model is starting to take hold and people are accepting it, but I hate it. I might be wrong because I don't play those games, but it seems like whoever spends the most real money has the biggest advantage. I'm not going to pretend that it doesn't happen in other games, ala MMO gold buying and D3 aution house, but atleast they aren't shoving it in our face by giving us 1/20th of a product and nickel diming us for everything else.

"whoever spends the most real money has the biggest advantage" I totally agree with this. F2P is nice and all, but most of them you spend money and you have advantage over other players. Even if it's not F2P and is subscription, there are gold farmers that sell gold etc and it's the same thing. Difference with Zynga games: yes, they shove the "Buy Now" messages in ur face, which I don't like, but on the flip side they aren't a race like MMOs. There is no "end-game" to get to. Games like Cityville/Farmville are just like "hobby" games where you collect things and create ur city/farm. It's not a race between players to see who has the better gear or who can finish the latest dungeon first. Please Log In to post.
