I kinda wanted to buy this but i heard about all the bugs and decided against it. Have the bugs been fixed now? If not is Operation Flashpoint 2 a better choice?

I know I'm being kinda vague, but the question is pretty simple

So far the singleplayer to OF2 sounds and looks better (voice actors dont' seem to sound like robots lol). The multiplayer looks like it would be fun 16vs16 but I have yet to try it out.

OF2 does not look better than ArmA2. Not in any area.

What!? Arma II looks beautiful, you must not be able to run it on high gfx

btw OFP2's voice system is the exact same as arma II's. I started the campaign and heard "Enemy Soldier, FRONT, 200 meters". They say the same phrases as ArmaII has.

I played the multiplayer and until they remove that gay 4km restriction on pvp levels and include a dedicated server, then I'd pass

I've tried the ArmA II demo, and it was a buggy mess. I seriously hope that the full version's patches have fixed that up by now. Then again, I probably won't buy it because I've caught wind of an official expansion, and I'd prefer to just pick that up as well as the main game in one box, like my current copy of ArmA Gold or Operation Flashpoint GOTY. The other reason is that I still find it rather expensive for not offering that much over ArmA 1 that I can readily see, other than the new graphics engine that seems to add more of a Real Is Brown/"next-gen" look with the even more colorless landscape and extra bloom. (At least I can apparently carry over the ArmA 1 content into the ArmA II engine when I'm ready to move over...but by then, ArmA III will probably be out and then the community moves on to THAT.)

Um but its not because in ARMA2 almost everything they say sounds like robots. In OF2 the voices don't' sound like robots at all. Really depends on the person though for which is better personally I am finding myself enjoying OF2 alot more ^^.

That is if you can run it high settings, that is, which few can; the game has ridiculously bad performance issues. Plus, you won't be playing it with the grass on, since enemies have the annoying tendency to be able to see you right through it. And then there's that horrible shimmering blurriness in far away vegetation.

It's a stand alone game, not an expansion. But I'm not 100% on that.

Yes, I agree. The single player campaign was MUCH better than FP2's. I really enjoyed not being able to give my squad mates critical orders whenever there was a scripted radio communication, causing my entire team to be wiped out because they couldn't withdraw from a counter-attack. Oh, and that time when I unpacked a moble HQ when Sykes was still inside and he was teliported 8km away into the ocean. That was neat. Also, it never got old when a helicopter would swing around and kill two of my guys right after they disembarked, or randomly crash into trees with us inside. And I absolutely loved tracking down mission critical NPCs who were scared by gunfire and ran to obscure ends of the island. What fun!

Seriously, there are things Arma 2 does better and there are things FP2 does better. Saying Arma 2 is "superior in every way" is just absurd.

Not close at all. Arma is nearly photo realistic.

If you have the time to give to it, this game is quality. It looks amazing on ahigh... very high end rig and all the content is great. The mods and editor add hours to the game and take them from your life.

I really think editors should be introduced to all games.... maybe just start with some old ones to give them new life.

OFP2 isn't even Operation Flashpoint. ArmA II is big complex and cumbersome, it also has a caverns worth of depth; you'll either like it or hate it. OFP2 by comparison is a far more predictable shooter than milisim.

Funny you mention Arma 2. I just bought Arma 2: Reinforcements for $4.99 at Best Buy, and it came with Arrowhead. Once I figured that not only do you have to set it to very high, but increase the 3D resolution for it to look great. It's a hard game with steep learning curve.
