So I use FRAPS to get gameplay on my PC, but for consoles which one is the better? I do not need flawless quality but decent enough to watch.

Most video gameplay recorders use the Hauppage PVR. It records 720p and doesn't matter what kind of PC you have. With any PCI input card you can get higher resolution captures but you're going to run into problems with software avaliable as well as configurations & then you're going to have to compress it anyway to put onto a website. If your looking for a cheaper option you can look into getting a AVerMedia HDMI capture card. However out of all 3 of these the Hauppage is prob the easiest to use IMO.

ok thanks. Can you still edit recorded gameplay with windows movie maker with the PVR??

After looking at the specs for the Hauppage I saw that there is no mention of HDMI. Does this mean you cannot use HDMI to play the games either or just that the device records in sub-HDMI??

I have the hauppage. Its a very good device but only has component inputs for HD. It works very well and the quality is great (1 - 13MB/s you can adjust this in the settings). It records in .TS, .M2TS or mp4. .TS files are not compatible with movie maker. However I believe .M2TS (PS3) or mp4 (xbox 360) are compatible.

Alright guys, thanks for all the help. I just have one more question; if I am playing on a monitor using VGA cables, how would I use the Hauppage becuase it uses component cables. Would I need two VGA splitters for in/out??
