I got this from somebody's post:
67 * 100 / 118 = 56% vs GTX 280
37 * 100 / 59 = 62% vs GTX 280
63 * 100 / 119 = 52% vs GTX 280
4870 with 2GB is gonna own all those.
[QUOTE="PC_X360"]How much will it cost?wklzip
USD$549 launch price
WHAT?! Where is the proof, I heard $405.

And yet some sources point that the 4870x2 will be 15% faster than 2 4870 in crossfire.
[QUOTE="CreasianDevaili"]Also that it has been reported by a member at XS that microstuttering has been fixed on these. That alone is worth any sub 600 with the performance that we will get with no microstuttering.matrixian
Yes, I read that too. Here's the post.
He is supposed to have some benchies up later tommorow. Least some limited comparisons. Overall I an putting back the funds and waiting for the release. I put back a extra 50, making it 600, in case this goes a tad up from the 549 rumored pricetag.
I.E. Gonna have to camp newegg that night and snag one before they are all taken.
WTF! it requires a 650W PSU?f-a-d-3
welcome to PC gaming, always plan ahead ... i got my 700w with the intention of one day possibly diong SLI, i will advise anyone from now on there is no point in buying SLI boards unless you are going SLI at that moment.
The good thing from this is becasue i went 700W with any luck when I want to upgrade in a year or so I will be able to.
I'm not afraid to use it on my Corsair HX620w. 620 quality watts > Moar generic watts.Staryoshi87
Well someone at hardocp used two molex adapters and did 4870 CF on the hx620 with no problems. So i agree!
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to have to emai that ram guy at corsair to send me the 8-pin adapter :) I knew from the moment I bought this PSU it was quality, and I haven't had so much as a hiccup over the 16 months I've had it. It's the most reliable chunk of hardware in my system :) I can't recommend it enough... I'll probably stick with Corsair (Seasonic? :P) PSUs for life now :)Staryoshi87
YellowBeard at XS, he sent me two of them quite awhile ago.
All you have to do is pay shipping, $5 for me.
Let's see, on my list of things to buy:
1 - HD 4870X2 or HD 4850X2 (needs quad DVI)
2 - P45 motherboad
3 - Two more monitors
Hmm, this is gonna take a few paychecks, lol. ;)
EDIT: What am I thinking, you can't run CrossFire with multiple montiors. Oh well, I guess I'll just get some random PCI-e card to use for a third monitor and just get a HD 4870. This does make things cheaper, though.
Does this card need PCI express or PCI express 2.0?
I have an ASUS Rampage formula Intel X48 Mobo, will it work?
and i already have a 4850, Can i crossfire it with the 4870X2?rexs9
It will work on both slots.
Yes, you should be able to crossfire it with a 4870x2.
