Wow even with the new 5870 which is a monster it still proves that 16x is still overkill. if you look at the benchmarks there is really no difference when running between 8x and 16x in most games. the only thing i dont get is they want to make PCI E 3.0 but whats the point if 2.0 isnt even really being taken advantage of?

The HD5850 is the one i'm looking for. At 260$ and beating the GTX285. I'll wait until the price drops to about 180$.

Great thread. Looks like no single-GPU card can max out Crysis at 1920x1200. I'm beginning to think it is impossible. Still a nice card.

these benchmarks while amazing are still very very early, you have to understand that this is far from the potential of these cards, only in months will we be able to have better drivers for these DX11 cards and then will we see the incremental increase, as of now these only serve as a starting point, who knows what will these benchies look after these cards are fully optimized.
