hd 5970 vs gtx 460x2.. ready.....fight!!!

a dual gf104 is planned.. theres no secret.. but zotac is getting antsy.. that 5970 and ares have been sitting untouched in the market for FAR too long for their likings.. and the prospect of an ati single card and another dual gpu isnt all that exciting either for them..

yes my children the promised one is upon us.. behold the zotac gtx 460x2!!!

a dual gpu sporting two gtx 460 (768mb) cores. now she will only sli with another 460x2 but she is a dual gpu.. based on a similar pcb layout to their gts 250x2 (asian markets only) she has a shoulder to her making her hairs taller than a 5970 about the same height as an ares while maintaining a shorter length. she has 2 8-pin power connectors and has 4 dvi- ports on her backside as well as 1 hdmi

beyond this there isnt a whole lot more to say about her.o news on pricing but she is sure to shatter a few floors when she comes crashing through the floor later this year.

okay so i missed a bit of stuff:

672 cuda cores, a 256-bit memory bus, and 1gb ram she looks primed to easily rise above the 480 in the standings. prepare for the dual zotac card!

you have to remember this is a zotac only thing and we may never see it.. their last dual gpu was asia only (the gts 250x2).. well be lucky if we see this card tbh..

update for just you there gt.. i read into the preview ofr this over at zol.cn and found that this gpu will probably sit UNDER a gtx 580 and actually has 2gb ram not 1 my bad.. so yeah price wise and preformance wise it wont conquer the towering 580 claims but it will certainly raise eyebrows if she shows..

It should perform very near HD5970, what is the point to make a "beast" card if it's bestéd by a 1year old card.

No, this card is outdated before it arrive, would you guy's rather buy a more expencive dualgpu card than a new sinlgecore card with the same performance? (HD69xx)

This is a card they migth send out to fight against the HD69xx (NO, there will be no GTX580 worth mention in sevral months) and honestly i can only see it barely beat the previous version best card. (HD5970)

This card is only meh even before it's released.

I would normally agree.. But I'm not sure that the 4670x2 was worth the attempt. Not for $300.
