[QUOTE="mbukste"]This better be a joke,i'll be royally p*ssed if a 8600GT or even a X1950GT can't get high @ 1024x768...mbukste

My thoughts exactly.

If you need a GTX to play at 16x12, how the hell are owners of 8600GT/2600XTs supposed to run the game?

If this game DOES need 8800GTX to run max @ 1600x1200/1680x1050,then Crysis will likely become a flop,we'll find out when the demo comes out later this month.

Your forgetting the game looks awsome even on lower settings. It just likes even better on higher ones!

Anything below medium settings will look like **** :P

:o!

Everyone seems to be a little irrational here, other then a few people.
I was planning on staying out of this discussion but since it has gotten out of hand...

Think about what was said.
He used the word "MAXIMUM SETTINGS." Notice no "in-game" comment or anything like that.

Now what are the current MAXIMUM SETTINGS, more specifically AA, for the 8800GTS and HD2900XT?
We are talking about 16xMSAA and 24xCFAA.

Did you see how thost were scaling, 16xCFAA for the HD2900XT since 24x wasn't enabled in the early drivers, in the AnandTech.com review? http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2988&p=14

I might be wrong but I am going to be guessing that maximum settings means just that, the max graphical IQ you can set.

I don't really mind if I can't max it out at 1680x1050. I'll just move to 1440x900 or 1280x800. It looks the same to me.

So what do you think he meant when he said MAXIMUM SETTINGS?

This?-
Cevat- "Oh, I meant with the maximum settings of 4xAA and 16xAF..."

Yeah, I really think he meant high settings rather than max.[/sarcasm]
Comeon people please THINK and use your brains just a little.

MAXing a game is most commonly considered 4xAA, 8x AF. but maybe thats back in the day.
