Hey, My friend needs a smaller HDTV that will look very nice, but won't lag on games and such. Can you recomend this, or is this bad?

There is no point to get 1080P on such a small set. Our eyes can barley, or even not at all tell the difference between 1080p and 720p at that size. If your lookin for a 32 inch, just stick with a 720p set, you'll save a lot of money. If 1080p is a must, go higher to at least 42". It will be more expensive but the outcome is great.

Get an $800 Samsung. With that cash you can get a 42'' Plasma.

Well, the real problem he has is that he is currently using a 20" screen with a slight lag in games. Can you send a link to any other good HDTV's that will see no lag in games and no noticeable difference in resolution ?

If you're friend is noticing "lag" in game... it's probably because of a high response rate.

The best rated 32" of 2007 lineup is the Samsung LNT3253H (which is what I own... I was reading stuff up on cnet). Sorry, it's the sequel to the best rated LCD of 2006.

Sure it's only 720p, but it looks great... and it has flashy and useless touch screen buttons on the side of it to turn it on :P It doesn't matter anyway... because as other people said you need ATLEAST 40" for your eye to even notice a SLIGHT difference for 1080p. It's just a scam right now as they bump the price up by like $300-400.

I'm canadian, so here's a link to the canadian futureshop version of it:

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10086213&catid=23521&logon=&langid=EN

For being $1000 it's a steal in my opinion. Samsung is rated to make the best LCD's and has the best manufacturer warrenty for them (Zero Dead Pixel Policy. Although, they pretty much perfected LCD's to not have dead pixels). The only con of this Samsung is that some people don't like it's really vivid and bright colors (Sometimes doesn't look "real"). I personally like them, and especially like them in games (the brightness looks better I think).

If you don't like the default brightness, however, it comes with a slew of menu options to fool around with to get that 'perfect' image.

Unless he's using that 32" for a PC monitor, skip the 1080p (discussion of 1080p viability here).

Cheers,

Boz

The point is that the TV is a TV specific for gaming and supposedly really good.
