You need to have either or a number of them; Cable TV that provides HD channels, PS3, Blu-ray disc player, HD-DVD Player, Xbox 360. However an HDMI cable is a mandatory if you have one of the products or services I mentioned here cause if not then your not getting the full value of these products in conjunction with your HDTV. In other words if have least one thing that in your set that isnt designed for HD entertainment then your not gonna have an HD experience.

once you have ps3 you dont need blu ray player and you dont actually need an hdmi cable to have hd experience component cable is enough just as long as you viewing a channel that is hd but be warned that when you want your tv at 1080p you really need hdmi cable...best yet call you cable or satellite provider to exchange your regular box to hd

like you see jagged edges and feels like you still playin a gamecube or ps2 game right? thats because the max resolution for wii is 480p, its just very minor imporvement to 480i. ps2 gamecube and xbox games runs at 480i unless a game have a progressive scan feature then it can go up to 480p which is what you are seein right now, so if you want the most out of your hd gaming get a 360 or ps3... hope this helps you

Unfortunately Wii games don't support any HD res. You're really better off playing it on an SDTV :?
