I got the Tritton X360 5.1 headphones for $50 but they usually are around $100-$130. Koss makes good inexpensive headphones. You can test them at Best Buy.

Okay. Well, if you were looking for a nice headphones for your indoor stereo setup, I was going to recommend Sony's virtual dolby digital headphones. $225 right now. Going over to cnet.com, I'd say Sennheiser or Bose. For the Bose, only if you have a lot of money to blow.

I had a lot of trouble finding full size headphones to use on the go. Most of them had cords that were waaaaaay too long. If cord length is not a problem for you, I'd go with Sennheisers like someone else had already suggested. I found they had the best sound for your budget range. I ended up getting V-moda bass freq earbuds, they sounded great for what they are. I sacrificed a bit of sound quality, but they're so much easier to bring along with you that full size headphones.
