.......Exactly when is 7.0 considered a bad score? To me, 7.0= A damn good game that will probably meet the expectations of the fans that have been following it's progress for years or anyone a fan of the specific genre. I've been having an absolute blast with Hellgate since it's release.
Funny how quickly people forget that Guild Wars came from the same studio. They just actually thought and tried to make a good game while HG:L is simply bad. It is still a great game and I cannot wait until GW2.
I'm glad because hopefully Flagship will get the message that their monthly fee is trash.
yep arenanet seems to be mostly the best of the devs, quality wise. But hellgate london got a few of the fun gameplay guys. Too bad they couldn't have got together and worked on a mix of the two - diablo 3 :/
Single player DX10 is an atrocity. That first patch attempted to fix a few things by yanking the more interesting DX10 effects (the distinct depth of field blur) almost completely out. I could see glimmers of an entertaining game there, but the technical issues nuked it for me.
I thought this game was one of the most anticipating game of all time. Especially when it was developed by the creators of Diablo. But based from GameSpot's Review, I might be thinking twice before getting this game. I was a little disappointed about the whole game. I haven't played it yet but w/ what review says, kinda disappointing.
Spot on, I love it, but it's waaaay to glitchy. I understand publishers throwing their weight around on FSS is an issue, and an unfortunate one, but I can see this game getting alot better in due time.

Exactly, games that get 7.0 or higher mean a very good game for me.
The constant Sexual Inuendo that NPC's spurt out at you are plain creepy and make me want to not go to a merchant and crap, i mean COMON havin guys saying they wanna be with you AND WORSE its just...WTF where they thinking.
All the people that are whining and complaining will be playing it in 6 months if they aren't already playing it. Most are just complaining so they don't feel left out. If a game like wow can come from the epic failure of the launch they had to become one of the biggest games played online then HGL will surpass it easily in about 6 months or so..

I find it extremely entertaining. As I'm quite used to bugs and glitches on online games, it's a minor issue really. If you haven't played online games before, then maybe you might think it's a major issue. WoW at launch, for example, had quite a few gamebreaking bugs, but as the game was so addictive and entertaining it still was a success and just improved over time.
I've been playing about 40hrs ... and all I have to say is it's fun.. and that is the main point of ANY game.. 7.0 is STILL considered "good".. Diablo 1 didn't really have a storyline at all.. what you got about the Sin War was given through books.. most of the enemies act VERY similar to D2 creatures.. and the hellgate portals are much like LoD.. If you think the characters are unbalanced.. just think back to patch 1.07... a Sorceress was able to penetrate Cold Immune baddies with one click on Cold Mastery.. combine that with Fozen Orb and you have domination.. this was nerfed in the 1.08 patch .. (If you doubt me.. play LoD without patching.. you'll see that it is VERY true) It will take several patches for London to get where it needs to be.. but in the end it will be an excellent game :) I personally love it... Multi is much like Guild Wars.. it may not be a MMO by strict standards.. but they did borrow a lot from it. It may not be an original game.. but it is a "good" game nonetheless..
I've played about 10 hours worth, and I am enjoying it. It's got that good old Diablo 2 feeling to it, which is highly addictive. There are problems, I think the GS review was pretty much spot on; fortunately, patches will come out, and most of the issues will be ironed out, making the game that much more enjoyable. I currently am not paying the subscription fee, but I hope that FSS eventually improves the game and implements new features to make it worth it.
