Ok i been a console gamer since the NES days....and i never gamed on a pc before. I know theres alot of great games on pc so i wanted to build my (Budget) own gaming pc. But it's kinda werid and confusing for me that eatch game have it's on specs to play so i wanted to get your advice on this parts and tell me if there good anuff. BTW i want a pc powerful anuff to play elder scrolls at full settings.

(1.)CPU-Intel Pentium 4(3.0GHz)

(2.)Memory-1gb

(3.)Hard Drive-160gb

(5.)Video Card-???(Not sure what i should get)

Budget is $400.00

and for that budget i would advice you to get a ps2 or a xbox360...

You should go to the hardware forum, all your questions will be answered there in about 15 minutes. I'm no guru, but I know that if you want something future proof and you go with Nvidia, you should get something in the 8000's series. The 8800 is of course the ideal, but it also costs a small fortune. For something that will last you a little while now get a 7900gt, but that is already an old card and if you get it know you will be replacing it something sooner rather than later.

Wait it out and save more money. Also why would you want a high powered gaming rig. The best games don't require it. (Half Life 2, World of Warcraft, to name a few ;))

All i'm going to tell you is that $400 bucks is enough to buy a great GPU.  Also, head to Hardware discussion.

but like the other guy said, wait awhile to upgrade.  I just recently "upgraded" to a 7600gt !!! :P
