Help about steam.

When i bought Orange Box, Can't i install it from the disc? Because my download speed is kinda of low. Cause i was going to buy Left 4 Dead, But if have to download it via steam i won't. I'm alright with playing it on steam but not alright with the "Buy the Disc, then Download it from steam."

No since there isn't a way for steam to check online if your game needs more updates.

It installs from the disc, but then steam does the updates. Just go watch tv or something while it updates.
