I bought an ibuypower with watercooling. I had an awful time with it, it would constantly make obnoxious gurgling sounds (probably a bit of air in the lines), and was a very poor cooling solution. I ditched the watercooling and bought an all copper air cooled heatsink/fan and my temperatures dropped significantly. That being said, this was just my experience, yours might differ.

Newegg.com is one of the best places to get parts, and I have been using them for years.

Here is a Core i7 rig with an XFX 5850. It is the XXX edition since newegg doesn't have any of the regular 5850's from XFXin stock at the moment.

  • Core i7 920
  • ASUS P6T SE Mobo
  • 6GB OCZ Gold DDR3 1600MHz Triple Channel RAM
  • XFX HD5850 "XXX" Edition
  • Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb HDD
  • Samsung DVD Burner
  • Corsair TX 750W PSU
  • Cooler Master HAF 922 Mid Tower Case
  • Win 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
  • For a total cost (w/o shipping) of $1,375.

My crack at it:

Lite-On DVD Drive
Cooler Master HAF 922 Case
WD Caviar Black 640GB Hard Drive
Antec Truepower 750W Power Supply with promo code EMCYPYR26
i7 920 Processor
XFX HD 5870 XXX Video Card w/ OCZ Gold 6GB DDR3-1600 Memory
ASRock X58 Extreme Motherboard w/ Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System

Grand total: 1399.84, although you must purchase the power supply before Mar. 10 if you want to get that $20 savings.
