I've got a 32" Sammy that I've been playing as-is for a while now and I'm gonna get some speakers for it to enchance my gaming (and movie watching) experience. My living room is pretty small (it's an apartment) and the landlord lives below me so I can't crank it like crazy but I want something that'll sound full and make PS3/360 games sound AWESOME.

Also I don't want to spend too much money. Suggestions?

I'd be very happy to keep it under 200.

So just two speakers, or a full blown surrond sound system?

And do you need a amplifier as well?

Man, it's crazy how people come up in here and want amazing audio for little money. With that budget, you'd be hard pressed to get anything.

Really? What's a reasonable price to hook up a fairly small room?

$300 I think is the bare minimum. $500-700 for low end. $1000-$1200 for mid. $1500+ = high end.

At less than $200 you might want to think about a good pair of headphones or a 2.1 setup instead.

Try M-Audio AV 40s for AudioEngine A2s.

I really don't recommend this. If you're in an apartment or duplex type setting, ditch the .1 in 2.1 and just get a decent 2.0 set up. You'll get better sound and you won't be bugging you neighbors (like you certainly would with the boomy Z-2300s).

What about the Bose Cinemates? Less speakers but they mimic surround...I think they're around 500...

Man, avoid Bose. For $450, you could get real surround sound, something nice like this.
