[QUOTE="Bikouchu35"]This, also I would try to stretch to 670, even if I have to make some minor changes, like getting 8 GB RAM.Switch to 3570k cpu.

I would also drop the sound card since they aren't really necessary right away as well as getting a standard optical drive instead of a blu ray drive. That alone saves her about $100 which could be used for the 670.
Think of it this way, those things mentioned above can be added later and are relatively inexpensive. Video cards are more expensive and having to replace those in a few years is much more.

Yes, I too had that in mind. After all a GPU is possibly the most important component if he is getting the PC for gaming. What do you mean by 670? is that a graphics card? What is the full name?GamerGal13579
Well usually it would be a Nvidia 670GTX or something similar and if you can afford one of them it is also worth looking at an AMD 7970

Would my current choice of graphics card do fine??? (EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Superclocked) I don't plan to be overclocking, at least not at the moment.[QUOTE="5SI-GonePostal"][QUOTE="GamerGal13579"]What do you mean by 670? is that a graphics card? What is the full name?GamerGal13579

The point was to save some money on other components in order to get a better GPU, that will last longer. Thanks for the suggestion, I have picked the i5 3570K. Three questions. 1. Is the standard heatsink fan that comes with the processor good? Do I need any other one? 2. Is the Seasonic G-650 80Plus Gold 650W a good power supply? (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=15_972&products_id=21503) 3. Do I need any extra fans apart from the ones pre-built in my case? Thanks AgainGamerGal13579
1. It is fine if you don't plan to overclock.
2. Yes.
3. Nope.
Swap the HDD for an SSD, will speed the system up a lot, also worth just dropping the PSU to 550W is you want to save some money.V4LENT1NEIs that Intel SSD a good choice? I don't want to spend much more than $100 on a SSD. What size would I need? 60GB or more?

I set out to make a gaming computer whichdidn't go over $2000. With all of the parts, a keyboard and mouse, and the OS, it brings me to about $1950. I am happy to pay the price for the extra RAM etc.Looks good, but I still say you should only go with 8GB RAM to save a little
