You'd have to be delusional to think Crysis looks better than Crysis 2 with the DX 11 update and HD texture pack.

him saying crysis2 has better gameplay than the first further backs up your statement

lol, true.

no my eyes are fine, btw i see that crysis run with dx 10, which not good based on research i found online, how do u revert it back to dx 9 because at 2 AA and all medium my fps still looks like 20..... something is wrong with my settingsEyiAtSteam

I'd say something is wrong with your settings. At those settings (except Shaders which is at High), my minimums are in the upper 30's and averaging anywhere from the 40's to the 70's and my PC is way weaker that yours.

Edit:

Framerates in Contact (first level).

Here is how I run my Crysis. Watching in "original" mode when selecting a resolution for the best video quality. Keep in mind FRAPS lowers frame rate when recording. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLkg97aDr9k

sound like someone who used to got eyeful of crysis1's photoshoped bullshots and finally got to see the vanilla crysis's true face.

Well it's not the game's fault, the game has been around for 5 years, and the shader technology used back then is kind blurry and backward, some crysis1 modification does redraw the texture and add some nice post processing effect, but CE2 can do only so much. It's hardly a good looking game anymore sorry.

Your screenshot looks nothing like CSS and why does it need to have mindblowing graphics to be a good game. I recommend you actually finish it, I thought it was a great game.

I get nearly that on my 460, i think the problem here is the user not the game or hardware.

so where did i do wrong?

How much AA did you use with Crysis?

That is crazy talk. Better gameplay in Crysis 2? It was a slog through bullet sponge enemies with little more room for experimentation than your typical COD game.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the suit powers more in Crysis 2. That's what I mean by gameplay. The environment scope is several tiers worse than that of Crysis.

Not by 2011-2012 standard, it's a game built for 2010's hardware but pre-released in 2007, and it severed its propose well. but shader quality from CE2 is way too dated to make anything look good anymore compare to what we have now

You don't need a benchmark of 60fps--the human eye can't perceive a difference between 50fps and 60. The same goes for people who can get their games to run in the 100's of fps. That (running at 100) is actually worse than if you ran the game at, say, 60-80fps.

Not one of those things is true, the human eye can perceive hundreds of frames per second, there's a difference between 50, 60 and 100 frames, a difference of fluidity which is the main reason for various fps variations in videos, a compromise in quality, detail combined with various gimmicks like blur and black frames to make those 24-30 frames seem decent. Saying that 100 frames is worse than 60-80 is pure nonsense.

Crysis is great looking but is showing its age in some areas. Try Crysis 2. It bumps the quality of Crysis' weaker points up.

-Unreal-
And bumps the quality of Crysis' strong points way way down! Honestly, Crysis I still find more impressive than Crysis 2. Crysis 2's environment is tiny, static, and blocky. I'd like to go back and look at it with the high-resolution texture pack and DX11 effects, but I still don't think Gamefly has given me back my games yet :(

Turn off the 2 AA in my opinion. The game has built-in AA (equivalent to 4x FXAA) when the settings are at least High and the MSAA is turned off. The MSAA will give you a performance hit and doesn't remove aliasing from the foliage. :D

already done that, even i already turn off AA and change everything into medium and still cant get that smooth performance ingame, is something wrong with steam?? or any incompatible with windows 7 64 bit Home premium?? or i havent download the latest patch for crysis 1??? this is seriously annoying while my system should be running battlefield 3 max setting @1080p and get 50-60+ fps and cant even get 60fps at medium crysis
