Hey, just been watching the Hitman trailer on

http://www.hitmanmovie.com/

And, well, I think the movie could perhaps be ok. But it seems to be lacking something the game had. Stealth. Yes, its just a trailer and they want to get peoples attention. Im in no way judging the whole movie, just what i have seen in the trailer.

In the game. Hitman has a more deep direct tone to his voice. Yeah, the original voice didn't do the work. As Timothy Olyphant has his own voice. But, just from the trailer, maybe they should of worked on it better. Perhaps im being a tough critique.

But i felt his voice kind of had a Clive Owen tone to it. I dont know.

I probably should be posting in general discussion.

Either way. Im just saying that i hope it has more of a feel of the game aswell and not just action action action.

Ohwell.

Happy Gaming all.

There appears to be elements of stealth in the trailer for example - http://img486.imageshack.us/img486/3979/hm1ps3.jpghttp://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8584/hm2co4.jpg

I have a version of the script but I have no idea how close it is to the final script. I only read the first 10 pages as to not spoil it for myself and it appears that the stealth elements are intact - he uses disguises and the like in the first 10 pages so I qould assume there is more to the rest than just shoot outs...problem is they look more exciting in trailers.

OH MY GOD... That is so...

I think the trailer captures the feel of the game very well. There are some stealth elements. I hope there will be lots of stealth in the movie. But you must remember that trailers are more interesting if it's full with action and special effects instead of things like stealth. There also seems to be some story material in the trailer and I really hope there is going to be a good story similar to the game's story. Mindless action movies suck so I really hope there's going to be a story. But the action in the trailer, it's perfect. The music is also perfect. As soon as I heard the music, the mood was all set and I had some hitman "flashbacks".

...AWESOME!

Maybe I'm bitter about the direction video-game-movies have taken in the past, but this to me looks like another one of my favorite videogames being turned into a mainstream action flick that will be in the movie theater for a weekend. Weak.

Have some of you even PLAYED the Hitman series from the beginning? This is going to be a horrible movie. It'll be great for "boom boom explosions" kids, but for those of us that played though the games barely firing a shot (if that) and completing the tasks unnoticed etc, it'll be just another horrible video game-based movie that lasts a week. It might as well go straight to DVD. Timothy Olyphant, though a good actor in my opinion, is the WAY wrong choice for this movie. He looks far too young to be Agent 47 (even though he's almost 40), and if they were going for some kind of prequel, they should've said so.

The only thing I may get from this movie is it's soundtrack. Hitman and it's sequels always had great soundtracks.

Unless you got a time machine and used it to travel forward in time to watch the movie, it's way to early to make claims like that.

And for your information, I played all the Hitman games and I think the movie is going to be great.

Yeah, I got my doubts about the actor aswell. I think his voice sounds too young. Maybe he sounds better at the other scenes that we haven't seen yet. But I do like the way he moves in the trailer, looks like a true "47" to me. :)

I have my doubts about this film, mainly over the guy they picked for the role as Agent47. His voice/look/body doesn't fit the role that well in my opinion, that being said i am going to try and stay positive about it since the Hitman games were about action/stealth not dialogue.

From the trailers i've seen and the rough synopsis of the film i read it would appear we will see Agent47 doing what he does best, being stealthy and assassinating his targets like in the game. But apparently he gets betrayed or sold out by someone at some point in the film and finds himself a target now. So thats probably why we see him acting less stealthy and going full out in combat guns blazing.

Personally i might have my doubts about this film but i still have my hopes aswell, i think the film will be a nice combination of action/stealth and typical style of play we've seen in the Hitman games.

The movie doesn't look all that fun to me. I hate these game TO movie adaptations because they never keep to the core of what the game was. The actor looks and sounds nothing like the real agent 47..They definitely should've chose someone more older to play the part. All in all I think this movie will flop like Silent Hill.

Yep, forgot to mention the actor looks pretty weak. They probably chose a younger person to play 47 to appeal to a younger, more mainstreamcrowd. When it comes to stuff like this (one type of media being adapted to another type of media), it usually means the story line, atmosphere, and plot is going to get screwed up to make it easier to swallow for people who don't know anything about the game.

I think I'll write a blog about it...

I imagine they chose a younger actor because the films storyline may be set in Agent47's younger years? thats what i think anyway.

It's a pity they didn't cast David Bateson - considering he *IS* the voice of 47, and even looks like him to boot.

Well, i think im going to leave my whole judgement until i see the movie. And then get back to yas. Butyou all bring up good points. I so wish we could of got Bateson for it, i read somewhere (sorry, i cant remember:( ) that bateson did audition for the part, but they knocked him back.

Not to long till the movie comes out. And the trailer does show action for the audience interest sake. Im thinking at the start it will have more stealth and then later on more guns blazing.

Anyone have a thought on what rating it will get? I hope its at least M or Higher. Hitman games can be pretty violent.

Yea, too bad Bateson wasn't chosen for the part. The guy they chose wasn't the worst choice, but certainly not even near the best. And I expect it'll get a rating of PG-13 in the US because that's what everybody goes for, but they might try to make it R since the games are rated Mature.

Nah, i dont think Statham. I think they really should of went with Bateson. He is an actor. Maybe not the strongest. But with the right director and stuff they could of used him well in the film. He knows the whole..well...mechanics of 47.

But we will see how it goes. Could turn out well, either way im going to see it. And probably enjoy it because my favourite hitman is finally on the big screen :)
