i LOVE the sims and i just recently got a pretty darn good PC and now i can finally play the sims 2 with ease...but one problem...should i get it? i mean, sims 3 IS coming out very soon i think which then the start every expansion pack ALLLLLL over again just like when the sims 2 came out but...when i see all the videos for sims 3....it just doesn't look or seem like the past seems at all the art is different, sorta....the faces don't look very simish to me, more realistic....and the gameplay just seems overall VERY different so what i'm getting at is that the sims 2 and sims 3 look to be very different from one another, even though they have the same name, it looks like sims 3 doesn't really build on what the sims 2 did, they just took some key features and over all just made a completely brand new game oh...and i'm still very skeptical on running the entire neighborhood at the same time, it's looking as if i may not like it as much as the sims 2....MAYBE so....what do u guys think, is the sims 2 and it's expansion worth the purchase NOW that sims 3 is almost here?

I think the best thing to do is to wait till the Sims 3 is out, check out some videos on youtube to see what its like and then decide if you want the Sims 2 or the Sims 3.

Its a pain waiting i know but it might be worth it if the Sims 3 ends up being really good.

well...I'm surprised that you've held out for this long~~" I'd second the idea that waiting for the Sims 3 to come out and check whether it's really departed from what you like about the Sims.

if you really decide to get the Sims 2, you can pick the expansions you're interested in, but more important is that there are tons of sims mod content...character model, new texture, new dresses and etc...it'll be fun.

i hate and love the sims.

it is at the same time the most pointless and completely unimaginative game ever and quite possibly the most addictive one.

i wish not to get addicted to a simulation of my life!

i'm planning on getting the sims 2 one of these days. but my guess is that they'll be releasing the complete version one of these days, and i'll get that when it comes out. i'm in absolutely no rush to get the game, so i can afford to wait.

Hello, First off I am one of the biggest Sims fans in the world, I for one cant Waite for the sims 3 to come out, I want to play it so bad. I have the sims 2 and all the expansion packs and stuff packs. Don't be fooled by all the differences of the sims 3, I belive its a lot more like the sims and the sims 2 then you think, Like you can play the sims 3 and have a Sim play the ''Home life'' and never leave the house if you want to. And you can go to shop in town then come right back home, Also I have read some ''Creators Camp'' facts and it says that your can set the aging time or turn it off completely, and form ''Eden Style''.

-All the Sims of the city evolve together, but if you want you can stop the aging or the story progression. In this way Sims that you don't control won't get married or evolve.

So if you want to stop the sims that your are not playing form doing important life moments you can. So that way you still have control over the whole neighborhood, I for one am glad of this, As I don't want the sims that I play to do important things unless I tell them to even if I am playing another family. I think the sims 2 is a great game, But unless you just want the sims 2 I would wait for The Sims 3 as it is still the basic concepts of the sims which is creating sims and living there lives and building houses and things of that nature.

The Sims 3 is just really the next logical step, Making sims smarter and more realistic and the neighborhood integrated as a whole. So I say unless you can/want to buy both I would just wait and get the sims 3.

The day it comes out would be ideal!!!! Hehehe.
