I would like to complain about the horrible keyboard and mouse support on the consoles, it's just lazy programming if you ask me  . The keyboard and mouse are the PC's NATIVE control scheme just like the joypad is the consoles NATIVE control scheme. Whilst it is always nice to give people options the main thing a developer should concentrate on is making the game work with the PC's native control scheme anything after that is just a nice optional extra that you should NOT EXPECT.
If you don't like the mouse and keyboard control scheme then perhaps PC gaming is not for you. After all I can't stand the joypad control scheme consoles use so I accept I cannot play games on the console and don't go into the console section complaining about lack of mouse and keyboard control in console games.
most games now have gamepad support . after a while of using a mouse and keyboard in oblivion i just stuck with using a keyboard. its just so much better when u get used to it..
also if u arent used to a keyboard and mouse 0play a game like portal or oblivion to get used to it
there is (arcade) joystick support for street fighter4 and it works great.lol.. thats all i gotta say
im serious here gamepads and pc rarely go well togeather (though i really wish i ahd one for tps's & street fighter atm)
try getting a third party program like switchblade.

im aware and id kill for a good one.. atm all i have is the older xbox controller (not the xbox 360)
I think he's got a point, especially for multiplat games. Lot's of people are still stupidly elitist about mice and I really don't see why, for a singleplayer game, unless it's an RPG or strategy game, there's little difference, so you aim a bit slower, so what, it's only singleplayer, the enemies aren't lightning sharp, and there's still a ton of games where using a keyboard is ridiculous, driving games, fighting games, hack and slash games etc etc.bobbetybobfor hack and slash mouse is way better than controller. on, driving and fighting you are right but there are not many games on pc for those genres anyway. it is not really about being elitist, it is much more about being natural and comfortable. i also have an xbox 360 controller and it is just painful to play with it
I was a console gamer first, but now mostly pc and I love using a controller on any game I can possibly get away with. Even single player FPS games, I'd rather use a controller. Since the 360 came out, many many more games have implemented 360 controller support. So while it's true that not EVERY GAME EVER has controller support, it has become 10 times easier to just plug in your controller and play a PC game. So really...stop whining.
Stop being annoyingly silly. PC is extensible unlike consoles. One of the draw of PC gaming is flexibility and not rigidity. The implementation of controller support in games that have console counterparts should be standard. And if you want to argue about native support well the NATIVE use of the mouse and keyboard is for productivity work and the NATIVE use of the gamepad is for games. Your comparisons between consoles and PC holds no merit since PC has supported controllers for decades.I would like to complain about the horrible keyboard and mouse support on the consoles, it's just lazy programming if you ask me  . I believe he is pointing out games that have console counterparts have not controller support on the PC which is inexcusable especially with the existence of the Xbox 360.I was a console gamer first, but now mostly pc and I love using a controller on any game I can possibly get away with. Wow all the just stick to this or stick to that... lol Very little thoughts put into some of these comments.
Maybe he/she wants something more stable than a 360 and something that is more powerful than a console.
I have very little problems out of my Razer Onza controller, which I use for many games. Racing (oh but Mouse and keyboard.... Give it a rest, we all know mouse and keyboard is better for a large portion of gaming, but don't be in denial about the areas where the controller are better)
I think honestly if you are playing games that are no more than 5 years old you should have very little problem out of a wired 360 controller, or a razer onza.
How about I complain that Consoles suck at allowing me to use Mouse + Keyboard (not emulated via a crappy dongle) without auto aim. Oh I know why, because then all the console players would start crying from the KB/M players beating them so badly.
And then people wonder why PC gaming support is dwindling. Just read the above responses. God forbid if anyone wants to game on a PC with a controller. The simplest solution is to stick to the console if you want to play everything with a gamepad.

Then get a console. Also, learn to spell. That was barely readable.

But we are the few, we are the proud.
The 360 controller is the best controller i have used if you don't like it you can get a ps3 controller and dl motion joy to use on your pc. Yes not every game has good gamepad support that could implement it and have it be a viable control method but its the nature of the platform. At least their is a choice by using keyboard to gamepad mapping programs like pinnacle game profiler. On consoles you have virtually no option for true mouse and keyboard controls for gaming only gamepads.
I think the addition of gamepad support (360 controller supported games on pc are awesome!) is really helpful for people in my situation, which is increasing lately as HDTVs get cheaper. I have my rig set up on a 24" monitor where I can use some awesome headphones for when I want to play with the keyboard and mouse. However, my 12 ft HDMI cable running both video and audio to my Onkyo 7.1 receiver lets me watch shows and play some games on my big screen with 7.1 Polk Monitor series speakers. Needless to say, ANY game looks and especially sounds much better because my living room is better equipped for that type of entertainment. When games like Crysis+Warhead+Crysis 2, Batman AA, Prototype, Just Cause 2 and more get the home theater experience, its a letdown for other games such as BFBC2 and Oblivion, as well as the Mass Effect Series to not support a controller. Dead Space and DS 2 were also WONDERFUL experiences on my home theater. My monitor is great, and my headphones sound wonderful for headphones, but without gamepad support I simply don't get to enjoy some games like I'd want to. I enjoy playing Mouse/Keyboard from time to time, but when given the option for gamepad I almost always use it. I'm not a competitive gamer though, and understand where Mouse/Keyboards have their advantages. But given a choice? I'd rather take the 30" extra inches of real estate and superior sound from the comfort of my home theater style couch.demi0227_basici am not sure i understand. why dont buy an xbox then? you could use it with all that cool equipment you just mentioned?

Use it.
You can use xpadder or x360ce.ampiva
what he said. this is really the good thing about pc gaming if you ask me. the platform is unbelievably flexible and just about every "problem" has a sollution if you search for it, without having to rely on one company or developer.

Yep. And I find it funny some people here are just anti-gamepads? Tip: PC gaming is not KB/M, PC gaming is whatever you want it to be.And then people wonder why PC gaming support is dwindling. I own 4 Xbox 360's (family man, and my kids use media center) and a PS3. PC games LOOK better, so when a game comes out on PC that is suitable for gamepad support, I appreciate it. I know there are a lot of kids on this site, but I'm 29 and have accumulated some nice toys in that time. Playing Just Cause 2 on PC inspired my boys to go mow lawns to buy it for their 360. Seeing My GTX 570 max that game totally out at 1080p and getting 40+ fps, and then comparing it to my kid's 360 version on their 720p flat screen just really is day and night. My wife and I play sytem link from time to time with the kids too.
This is about having the same quality and options as a console gamer because we also pay for our games. DragutinTodos
In terms of controls the console platform supports only one input device which is the joypad. So if you want the "same" options as the console then naturally developers should only cater for the PCs native control system too which is the mouse and keyboard. If you are not happy with mouse and keyboard control then you have to ask yourself if PC gaming is for you. I don't like joypad's so obviously console gaming isn't for me I don't go demanding that the consoles support my preferred choice of control. I accept the fact that the primary control scheme on the consoles is the joypad.
I really don't get what is wrong with the 360 controller. I've been console gaming for a while and it's one of the best ever. Also, why does Xpadder suck for you? If a game suports use of a 360 controller then you could easily remap the keyboard/mouse controls to the equivalent buttons on YOUR gamepad so it works similarly to the 360 one. I don't know what about Xpadder could suck. You take a keyboard or mouse function and it maps it to a button. It can even map mouse motions and controller triggers.
Oh sure, that's the reason.... Oh forgot that making games less accessible is more profitable. My bad.[QUOTE="Pedro"] And then people wonder why PC gaming support is dwindling. Just read the above responses. God forbid if anyone wants to game on a PC with a controller.

Your keyboard and mouse are your weapons. Be a man. Gamepads and consoles are for sissies!sexygirl6t9Oh the good ole be a man trick. If being a man is using the keyboard/mouse for playing games then you should be the bigger man and play games with your feet. For its obviously more manly to play games with devices that are not design for gaming.

So you are basically saying play all games on a a mouse and keyboard because they are native .Why is a usb gamepad not native ??? Can you plug it in a console ?? Can you use it for anything else except playing video games on the PC ?? Is it more expensive than a keyboard and mouse ?Bad camera control is a primary issue ,the worst problem with game pads is poor precision any worst and the game is unplayable .Next is menu controls you cant use the same keys for two functions and that just kills game play bottom line if it's not made for a controler Xpadder cant do a god job .Also if you plug in a controler in a Xinput game it will have a conflict because it's going to recognize a normal game pad partially .The 360 pad is Microsoft's ploy to force us to buy their product.By implementing a new supposedly better standard called X input that caters ONLY to their controller .Many gamers have game pads already left of from previous generation's or from their console by an usb adapter and now they are all but useless because of Microsft .If that is not abuse of power and monopoly i don't know what is .Xpadder could have a chance with maybe plastation move or the Wii nunchuk but those are expensive i don't know if any one tryed.I really don't get what is wrong with the 360 controller. I am saying that the primary focus for developers bringing games to the PC should always be Mouse and Keyboard. If you game on the PC then you should expect proper mouse and keyboard control but you should not expect joypad control. I do not expect developers to support the mouse and keyboard on the consoles (despite the fact you can connect a mouse and keyboard to them). It is fine if developers want to go to the added expense and time balancing their game for joypad control as well but that is up to them.
The reason the mouse and keyboard is the "native" control scheme is because nearly all computers come with a mouse and keyboard. You cannot use a computer without a mouse and keyboard just like you cannot use a console without a joypad. In other words a developer can be absolutely guaranteed that a PC gamer will have a keyboard and mouse that is what makes the mouse and keyboard native to the PC.
I do not own a joypad, I have no intention of ever buying a joypad. So if a developer makes their game with the joypad in mind I will quite happily skip the game completely. I do not like joypads and I do not want to play PC games with joypads. If I wanted to play a game with a joypad I would go and buy a console.
