How big is the difference between the ATI 4870 and 4850/4830 pci-e 512mb video cards. Is the differnce that much? because if i get the 4870 i need to upgrade my power supply to handle it. So, would the differnce be worth the price of a new power supply?

Benchmark comparison. Not sure of the validity fo the source, but its the only one I could find that included both the 4850 and 4870.

Head on over to tom's hardware and look at the benchmark charts. I believe they have both 4870s and 4850s (not sure about the 4830). The even have them in crossfire, however no 4870x2. Choose a game and your screen res, then you can easily compare in FPS.

here ur answer is also the 4850x2 which is a little behind but i believe the fact 4870x2 giving like 3-5fps more then 4850x2 is the driver they too premature
for people who play on 1920x1200 but on 2560x1600 there a big difference id want a 2560x1600 monitor bud hell it big 30 inch :D and id wonder what distance id have to be of my monitor to play nice on that resolution and if it downscale well to 1080P without lose quality ;)
yes it would worth the power supply BTW you can get EVGA 260GTX 216 Super-clocked Edition Core if you not gonna crossfire at 235$ US in newegg.com as the Black Friday sales is still here 45$ rebate just letting know alternative if ati state what tehy said on fudzilla where nvidia go way higher then 4870 1GB GS with is superclocked Edition of EVGA / and Standart such as +50 fps on 1920x1200 make me think ATI can too do a big move like this

Fixed. Was trying a new addon for firefox 3. Apparently the bbcode function works properly but not the html linking. I stll get the html error not well formed error whenever I try to do html linking with title even if I do it myself. Maybe Gamespot just doesnt support html linking.

not big enough for me...4850 should be fine if your resolution isn't very high
