In the previous games you where a victim. You where a simple mortal, trying to survive from the cannibals and Alma and stuff. What is there to be afraid of now? Instead of being the one hunted, you are now playing as the hunter. What do i have to fear? Oh gosh Alma appeared again, help....oh wait. Shes my mother, she wont hurt me. Will fear 3 be without fear?Warwick94Was Fear 2 scary? I wasn't aware. Hell the first wasn't even THAT scary, though it had its moments.
The FEAR games continue to get less scary, FEAR 3 will likely be a romantic comedy given how far the series is deteriorating.nutcrackrHahahahah, don't over exaggerate.... As for the post: have real life soldiers break through your window once you reach a certain level....that will make you jump....

Don't know why so much hate for FEAR 2, I thought it was an entertaining game....

The FEAR games continue to get less scary, FEAR 3 will likely be a romantic comedy given how far the series is deteriorating.millerlight89
The main protagonist, Point Man, is the first child of Alma. He's far from normal. In fact, he has super human reflexes. It's the same case with Becket; he gains similar powers to the Point Man.
Seriously... a shooter scary? Listen. the difference between horror and action is the ability of the protagonist to defend themselves. Alien was a horror film, Aliens was an action film. There is no game where you are walking around with multiple weapons that is going to be scary. Put the protagonist in FEAR with nothing but a curtain rod, and I'll start to be scared.
Johnny is right (although Aliens did have some scary moments, specially in the remastered 7.1 surround version),,,,,, Hence Dead Space, the main protagonists only has welding tools and such to defend himself....Seriously... a shooter scary? Stalker and Undying are scary:(
I humbly disagree. Though Undying came as close as any shooter has ever come.

Dead Space was scary. If you want real fear, I suggest you check out one of the worst reviewed games on GS.. (no, not Big Rigs...) Scratches. Made me change my skivvies more than a couple of times.

What the hell is that....?? hahahahah... Dead Scary made me change my undies.....and Undying also had some intense moments....
The FEAR games continue to get less scary, FEAR 3 will likely be a romantic comedy given how far the series is deteriorating.FelipeInsideHahahahah, don't over exaggerate.... I thought he was serious :( Two soldiers both in love with Alma! They have to fight their way together through the Empire State building but only one can survive the first date! Otherwise it'd be kind of awkward y'know, third wheel. Who wants that.
The only way Fear 3 can be scary if you are stripped of all your weapons, alone, fear of the unknown, defensless against the horrific beings out to kill you and you're constantly on the brink of insanity... you know what, just play Amnesia and treat Fear 3 as the genre that it is, a shooter. :P
Didn't even bother to play Fear 2 after the bad reviews it got. Fear 1 only scared me once or twice and it wasn't a propper scare. That scene when you see a shadow moving (it indicates that someone is behind you), that was kind of scary I guess. But other than that it was just a fun shooter. I did find Dead Space to be a little scary, but that's mostly because the controls were awkward and there was no fps-like free look so you felt kind of crippled. The only game that really scared me was Aliens vs Predator - marine campaign (not the 2010 but the late 90s game). All of you kids who were too young to play computer games back then should check it out.
The MP in that game is still fantastic to this day.Didn't even bother to play Fear 2 after the bad reviews it got. Fear 1 only scared me once or twice and it wasn't a propper scare. I consider the first FEAR a great game with a sort of evil dead cliffhanger and none of the others happened.
