I plan on upgrading in the future and buying more graphic cards, ram, an SSD, a sound card, and possibly a blue ray player. I'm just wondering what the purpose in different sized towers are and if I will need a full or mid tower?

A medium tower is perfectly fine as long as you pick the right case, not all mid towers are the same size. Get something like the antec 900 (or 300 if on a budget). I have the antec 300 and still have lots of room for sli even after adding my own cpu cooler.

A full tower is going to have more space is you want to put a lot of stuff in it, and it may actually help somewhat with heat issues. You could see the dimensions of the components and if they would fit in a mid tower I guess. I personally got a HUGE CPU fan/heatsink for my PC I built about 4 years ago and I don't think it would have fit in a mid tower case. It is also nice to have all the room to move cables and such out of the way.

Certain mid towers can be as big as a full tower so it really comes down to how much stuff you want to stick in there, what cooling you plan on using, windowed not windowed, brand, of course if you use e-atx mobo the n full tower is what you need if you plan anything above 2way sli/cf then full is the option 8)

I've gotten my choice down to these two; http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageGallery.aspx?CurImage=11-119-160-TS&ISList=11-119-160-S01%2c11-119-160-S02%2c11-119-160-S03%2c11-119-160-S04%2c11-119-160-S05%2c11-119-160-S06%2c11-119-160-S07%2c11-119-160-S08%2c11-119-160-S09%2c11-119-160-S10%2c11-119-160-S11%2c11-119-160-S12%2c11-119-160-S13%2c11-119-160-S14&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16811119160&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=COOLER%20MASTER%20HAF%20932%20RC-932-KKN1-GP%20Black%20Steel%20ATX%20Full%20Tower%20Computer%20Case and http://www.newegg.com/Product/ImageGallery.aspx?CurImage=11-129-043-TS&ISList=11-129-043-S01%2c11-129-043-S02%2c11-129-043-S03%2c11-129-043-S04%2c11-129-043-S05%2c11-129-043-S06%2c11-129-043-S07%2c11-129-043-S08%2c11-129-043-S09%2c11-129-043-S10%2c11-129-043-S11%2c11-129-043-S12&S7ImageFlag=1&Item=N82E16811129043&Depa=0&WaterMark=1&Description=Antec%20Twelve%20Hundred%20Black%20Steel%20ATX%20Full%20Tower%20Computer%20Case Which one do you guys think I should buy?

If money is right in your life, I would usually always go with a full-tower. Why? Well. With a full-tower, you'll have plenty of room, especially for those massive heatsinks and GPU's. But what I pay attention to in particular is great cable management. Does this case (full tower or mid tower) have holes/slots behind the motherboard that allow for power supply cables to pass through? Newegg.com does a great job at providing sufficient amount of photos so you could get a good idea of what you're buying (PC case). A lot of times, people are aiming for budget builds so they need to go with a power supply that isn't "modular" and cable management can be a bit of a pain in the butt. Like for example, Corsair TX 750 seems to be the budget favorite, and a trustworthy PSU brand to buy (which I've purchased twice, for two different builds), so it's always nice to have a PC case that has good cable management. Good luck to you and have fun.

If you have the money go with full. More space is always nice
