How do I know if I the new video card that I bought is bad? like how should I know if I should take my new video card back to the store or not?

what do you mean bad, do you mean like faulty or jus not a decent video card?

if the video card is bad then it wont work, that when you know to take it back.  for example, if you Properly install the card and you get a blank screen, or the card doesnt power up, then it might be bad.  I stress the work Properly

It is not always so easy to tell if your card is bad. I had an Asus 6800GT, that worked fine in windows, but would hang the computer up if I tried to go into BIOS. Weird as hell, but I sent the card back, was sent a replacement and had no more problems.

If there isn't any video, or you get corruption in the bootup screens that come up before the OS loads.....or if you smell burning I suppose....that wouldn't be good:)
