hi, my mom uses my old computer. it has a ATI Radeon X800 XT PE graphics card in it. the fan on it is getting old and noisy so i want to replace it. i noticed the fan does have a power cable connection on it, so it seems it would detach. but how do i know which fan will fit on it? it doesn't have to be anything expensive. just something to replace the noisy one. thanks!

You could probably just go to a local shop or something and find a fan.

Best bet would be to look at the stock in the website or shop your going to buy from and find which you think will suit your needs best, then go to the manufacters site and look at the fan there. It should say what's compatible and in some cases give the dimentions of the screw holes and any parts sticking up.

If you get some canned air and spray the fan with it, chances are fair to good that it will stop making so much noise.

not sure you can still buy one but i had an arctic cooling ati silencer 5 on my x800 xt pe, fairly cheap, easy to install and a great, quiet cooler back then. coincidentally my mom is the one who's using that now too :D

if i were you i would try fixing it without spending money though. download riva tuner, underclock the card by 50% (i doubt your mom needs the gpu power) and make a custom fan settings profile with lower rpm.
